The only thing between the player and the TV is the cable. Make sure it isn't the problem by trying a different cable or a different input on the TV.

I got a Samsung 1080i television, but when i connect my dvd player to the back, it does not pick it up. i also tried connecting a tv freeway antenna and that did not work either.

Check the input selector. If it is not set to use the source signal type, the set won't pickuup any signal. If the source signal is antenna, you shoud select antenna as input selector. If the source signal is AV, you shoud select AV in the input selection. Press the input button at the remote controller, and do the needy.

How do I convert from DVD to cable?

Do you wish to get signals from DVD player to TV? If so, the antenna connection won't work. You should use AV connection, using AV cable, and have to select the input to TV as AV. Contact any service technician. Gopakumar Gopalan Google

Model no. dtq2605fc how do we hook up a dvd player to this?

There are several ways to hook up a DVD player to a TV.

The simplest method, which works with any TV, is to use the DVD player's RF (radio frequency) output on channel 3 or 4, connect the output cable to the TV's antenna jack, and put the TV on the appropriate channel. There are two problems with this method, though. First, I'm not aware of any new players that have RF output these days. The manufacturers don't include it, figuring you'll be using the direct audio and video outputs. So if you're trying to connect a new player, you likely don't have this option. Second, if the player does have RF out, it's usually not stereo sound and the picture quality can suffer.

If the set has AV input jacks available, you would use those and select the AV input from the remote control or front panel. There are some possible problems with this method too. The biggest one is that if you've lost or thrown away the original remote, you might not be able to select the AV input. (Don't laugh, many people don't realize they should keep the original remote even if they never use it.) And on TV sets with only mono sound, you need a Y-adapter cable to combine the right and left audio outputs into one channel, so you lose any stereo effects.

The last way is for TVs without an AV input and DVD players without RF output. You use an RF converter (also called an RF modulator), which takes the audio and video signals from the player and makes a channel 3 or 4 signal you can tune in as I described earlier. RF converters are available at Radio Shack stores, most TV retailers and from many sources online. They're easy to connect, but you'll need an AC outlet nearby since they need power.

One of these methods will work for you, and you'll be watching DVDs soon. Thanks for using Fixya!

Hi i have an alba tv , im trying to connect a dvd player. I have connected the scart leads etc.I can not get onto the av channel so i can watch a dvd. Please help

Hi,

Firstly, please make sure you have connected the SCART cable correctly. This should be connected to a SCART OUT socket on the DVD player to one of the SCART IN or EXT sockets on the rear of the TV.

If you have correctly connected the SCART cable the TV should automatically switch to the AV channel when you switch the DVD player power on or insert a disc.

Switch your TV on, then switch the DVD player off and then on again. If the TV does not change to the AV channel you may have the SCART cable connected incorrectly.

Not all TVs automatically switch to the AV channel when the AV device is switched on. On some TVs the AV input is on channel 0 or 99. On other TVs the AV input is not assigned to a specific channel. On these TVs you need to look for a button marked "AV", "INPUT" or "SOURCE" - either on the TV remote or on the buttons on the front of the TV. The easiest way to do this is to insert a disk into the DVD player and start it playing. Then press the "AV" "INPUT" or "SOURCE" button (whichever one you have) repeatedly until you find the signal from the DVD player.

Please check your connections and try using the "AV" "INPUT" or "SOURCE" buttons. If you are still unable to watch your DVD player, please post back with the following information:

1. Model number of the Bush TV
2. Brand and model number of the DVD player
3. If you are using any remote other than the ones supplied with the TV or DVD player, the brand and model number of the remote.

I will then be able to tell you exactly how it should be connected and which buttons (if any) you need to press to access the AV channel.

Hope this helps. Happy New Year!

Regards,
BElectric

Tv works great, dvd is new , cant figure out the right hook up , dvd has 3 cables white yellow red

Red = right sound channel, white = left sound channel and yellow = video (picture) channel. if you have the connections matching these on the tv, then there should be an AV channel on the remote/tv control panel. Select this channel to view, if more than one AV channel on the tv, there will be a number next to the sockets you plugged into. Select the AV number and away you go.
If your tv doesn't have the correct sockets you can buy a converter to use the ariel socket on the tv.
