Right half of screen is perfect. Left side, no picture - just 2 thick vertical bars 1 white, 1 black. Right in the middle of screen is one very thin flickering green vertical line going from top to bottom.

Hey there! I actually did peruse through that site per another suggested thread, but I was only limiting my search to plasmas. I've run out of keywords, too, to search by. I'll look up LCDs, too. Thanks, The Knight (in shining armor :D )!
Search the site by type in the brand name to your device, in the “Search box at the top right of the display window” to get gathered related posts.
Yup, that's how I've been searching.

Just taken mine in for repair and was told this. "After checks to Switching and Data flow to PDP, Suspect the Plasma display panel to be at fault
which also may well have caused damage to the buffer and logic boards."
I am presently trying to get currys to replace it as it 18 months old.
Forgot to say was quoted £1200 to fix!!!!

You could have one of three problems. One is really expensing to fix and you might want to trash the set. Thats if the panel is bad. Secondly, it could be a buffer board that went back. Not as expensive as the panel. Finally, it could be the connection between the two. I would first take the back off and locate this board. Undo the ribbon cable and clean it off a bit and put it back. If its still there, you have a deeper problem.
