How do you make it so you can see which lines are in use? Also, how to set up the direct talking with other people in the office Like a walky-talky by the push of a button?

Tried turning the mic on but that doesn't seem to help.

Hi Fallon, while on the middle of conversation, please check the LCD display of your digital phone, you will see "voice call" then press the button for direct talking.

My husband & I both have baofeng uv-5r plus, is there any way we can talk to each other on them like walkie talkies?

baofeng ARE walkie talkies. Perhaps you mean directly, radio to radio. There are so may settings, they are confusing. Imported, esp. chinese radios have poor documentation. It is a Ham radio. They are cheap and they have horrible manuals.
Look for DIR or direct. Try this online manual being made by baofeng folks like you. http://radiodoc.github.io/

Use a audiovox walkie talkie

What is your question about using the walkie talkie? These are standard FRS low power walkie talkies. You need to set both to the same channel. Turn both on. Push the transmit button and speak into the microphone which is on the face of the radio. You should hear the voice in the other walkie talkie.

Note; all of these FRS talkies have substantially less range than advertised. They should provide reliable service within about 1/4 mile line of sight, no more. In an urban environment with lots of buildings you will get less.

We have three Uniden walkie talkies - two of them have a symbol of a walkie talkie above the channel - these two will not talk to each other - but they talk to the one without the symbol - how do I ge

Sounds like the PL tone is set on the two, with different tones. Go to the menu, find the tone screen, and turn off the tone (or set them all to the same tone). That should fix the problem!

I have a walkie talkie i can talk to the reciever and hear it but i cant talk back from the reciever

Check your private line code (aka tone code or interference eliminator code). One of your radios possibly has it set differently than the other.

Where can I find an authorized repair center for Motorola Walkie Talkies near Pensacola, FL 32505?

I work for the authorized motorola dealer for pensacola, but i work in another branch. Typically we do not service the "walkie talkie" line that motorola makes. For those, you should contact motorola directly. Here is their contact link:

Is kenwood walkie talkie and motorola walkie talkie on the same frequence

If you are talking about FRS radios, the answer would be yes. If you are talking about business radios, it depends on how they were programmed. Business radios have many frequencies available.

T5900 Walkie Talkie Issue

Hello Bo Duke,

If one radio won't walk to the other my guess if that you have the Privacy Code function set up incorrectly.

The privacy code function mutes the radio unless it receives a signal from another radio transmitting the same privacy code. If Privacy Codes are turned on for Radio A but not turned on for Radio B then you will be able to transmit from Radio A to Radio B but not from Radio B to Radio A. If Privacy Codes are turned on for both radios but each unit is set to a different code then neither radio will be able to talk to the other.

Make sure that the radios are both set to the same privacy code or that the privacy code function is turned off on both radios. You can find more information on how this function is set in the radio's Owner's Manual.

Hope this helps!

Walky talky

A walkie talky as we called them, back when we were younger - and hell we probably still do in some respects, hence the fact my friend still refers to her cordless phone as a "walkie talky" and the principals haven't changed that much.

The common old Walkie Talky or CB radio use what we call a half duplex, that means only one person can talk at a time. We are talking and listening on the same channel.

Cell phones are full duplex, meaning two way conversation, and this is simply listening on one channel whilst talking on another, so the basic principal is basically the same, just a little more sophisticated.

Walkie-talkie typically has one channel
CB radio has 40 channels.
Cell phone
can communicate on 1,664 channels or more!

I have included a link to a circuit diagram.

There is also two links below, building the transmitter & receiver.
