SOURCE: Start up Probelms HP Pavilion Slimline

I'm the same guest from before and I've got my slimline back up and running. I found the solution somewhere else, can't remember where as I was on someone else's computer, but suggested a boot up problem with some USB devices. One suggestion was to power the computer down, unplug all USB devices and power it up again. The only USB device I had was an HP all-in-one printer/scanner. I unplugged that and the computer booted right up. Hope this helps!!

It may be being woke up by the LAN. You can turn off wake on LAN in the BIOS or in Device Manager.

This is an ALL-IN-ONE PC. 5 years old, (can be)
not a desktop real (atx) not laptop or note book.

Most of these odd duck PC have special keys for Unsleep.?
but this fake desktop has no huge battery.
so you unplug the power pack from the wall
and hold the power button on for 30seconds and release it.
then try normal.
'
the manual on this PC cover sleep did you read it.
did you ever upgrade the OS? if yes, BINGO. a problem.
learn that sleep mode only works correctly if all drivers are correct for you unstated OS (matched perfectly from HP)
and worse in hibernate mode, more complex. that is.

using slate mode? or hdmi
read page 4 (and page 45 on 30min sleep rule new)

quote. how to unsleep or WAKE this PC is stated in the above manual. I pasted the words here.
Examples include the user pressing the power/sleep button, receiving an input signal from an input device, receiving an input
signal from a network connection with t
he Wake On LAN (WOL) feature enabled, etc.

typing wakes it, mouse wakes it.
if you have power setting set up wrong, the mouse and keyboards go dead and will not wake the PC from sleep.
so hold the power button on for longer, time.
the power button I think is the only button that never sleeps.
note how that button has very unique name, on this PC.

My hp desk A6600F went into sleep mode and will not wake up. Monitor and keyboard will not wake up?

Hello,

One of the possible reasons for this is oudated video driver.

Try updating the video driver. If you don't know how to do it, then use RadarSync. It will do everything.

I have a HP Pavilion Slimline, when I turn it on it seems like everything is running fine since I hear the fans and the light turns blue. But my monitor keeps telling me to check my video cable, then goes...

It could possibly be a power supply failure. Make sure all connections are in place.
The only other solution I see to this is a bad motherboard.
Good luck and do not forget to rate me :)

To wake it up,first try just quickly pressing the power switch on front. If worse comes to worse, just turn it off by holding the power button in until the pc shuts down & simply power it back on. Then you'll be able to get into windows & make the proper adjustments for the power settings you want & be able to configure the keyboard to put the pc to sleep or wake it. The above link is straight from hp,reguarding the same issue. I gave it to you for reference.

Hi,

Sleep is more commonly known as Hibernation with Vista.
Sometimes certain updates or freshly installed service packs can mess with your settings, or sometimes disable the feature altogether.

Microsoft have released a fix for just this problem.

Go here to Microsoft (link below) read down the page until you see Fix this problem, click on that and then click on Run when prompted.
You should get a message saying that the problem is fixed.

Restart your computer and set your Hibernation settings.

Monitor will not restart after sleep mode

Hi,
it's not a hardware-problem - it's a windows feature smile_wink.gif - (and it really is one !) - please try this:
To prevent a USB mouse from waking your PC

1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.

2. In the list of device categories, expand Mice and other pointing devices.

3. Right-click the entry for the USB mouse, and then click Properties.

4. On the Power Management tab, clear the Allow this device to wake the computer check box.

5. Click OK.
Don't forget to do this with your mouse + keyboard !
