I've had the same problem - jumbled threads on the underneath side of fabric. My solution was this: I had recently purchased new bobbins and they turned out to be the wrong size. I went back to the ones that came with the machine and the problem disappeared. So, have you recently purchased new bobbins? They might not be the correct ones. Funny, in all of the posted possible solutions below, not one mentioned this possibility. turns out my new ones were not as tall and were slightly concave instead of taller and flat. Check your machine manual for the correct bobbin part number.
Check YouTube for some great video advice. I was checking for tension issues and she addressed "bunching" issues too. Recommended teflon bobbin washers!
My guess is that you have lost all of your upper tension and you may have your needle in backward. Unthread the machine.Raise the presser foot.Turn the handwheel until the take-up lever is at it's highest position.Set the upper tension dial/knob to 5.Remove the needle and replace it making sure that the flat side of the needle shank is to the back.Thread the machine. With the presser foot up, the upper thread should pull through easily and then grab when the presser foot is lowered. Test sew. The upper tension pulls the stitches up and the lower tension pulls the stitches down. When they pull properly, the stitch is even.
Most often it is top threading, if you are sure it is correct then there is probably thread wound around a rubber wheel which meters out the proper amount of thread for each stitch. Face palte and top must be removed for access.
you need to take out the thread and and bobbin thread and re-thread your machine...take the bobbin out of the casing and replace it properly...now turn off your machine wait 30 seconds turn back on and sew on scrap piece of fabric
Your phone has a LCD (liquid crystal display) and if it is dropped or gets a chemical or even water on it it can damage the fragile insides of your phone. Is there a gas at the shelter that could be affecting it? Barring that, take it to your provider and have them analyze the problem. That is a free service. Good luck.
Under file menu find page setup. Check the margin settings. Compare them to the ones that are in the printer properties. If they are different the jumbled characters are caused by conflicting settings. Try returning to defaults. If this does not solve the problem, check to see what fonts you are using. A page written in a font not supported by your computer will usually display with small boxes or crazy looking characters.
test it out on 2 pieces of material by rotating the wheele by hand. pay close attention to the 1" area. when you turn it by hand you can feel the area of question. is your bobbin spooled correctly. if all fails read the directions.
