Hi mate this is in the wrong category but i have an elu flip saw and to remove the guard you take your blade off and guide bush and remove the circlip and the guard pops off but u need to make notes on where the guard return spring fits through a hole on guard so as to replace, and remove the bolt with the screw driver slot in and washer / spacer to detatch the folding arm inside the guard, i will check mine and jog my memory then get back to u,does yours have a duel size bush for different blade diameters / centres. Elu. Why doesn't it start?

Old ELU TGS171 /tgs 172 tgs 173 until A3 type If the 171 or 172 a relais in the switch on the right side or a 60 mf Capacitor is damaged or only a broken powercable , if 173 in the switch on the front a little round bridge rectifier inside the switch can be defect or a powercable or motor cable can be broken .look also on the little metal actuating pin also on the switch that the whole unit is tight so by abbreviate the trigger switch will work . if not the must primary a broken cable or a loose slight contact .

Dewalt DW 705 Type 1 Hard to pull down to cut material

Go to www.2helpu.com that is the dewalt site. You might have to change the link arm that moves the guard up. They get bent over time. Check other parts on the raise and lower assy for wear at the same time.

I can not get the fence guard to work properly. it binds on the wood that I'm cutting and does not allow me to lower my blade lower than about 1"

A mitor saw? If so, that little flap attop the blade gaurd is there for you to help the gaurd pass the cut area with your thumb. Mine does that too on materials over 3" thick. BE SAFE! Rest your thumb of your trigger hand on the gaurd flap, and help it out when it sticks, once you get going, the gaurd will move freely... I hope I helped you, and had the right saw in mind, if not, let me know!

Chainsaw starts but chain does not move freely in running mode. flip the guard back and chain moves freely but will not cut because safety gaurd has been tripped.

1:the chainsaw have a emergency brake to reset pull the protection right in front of your hand over the saw 2:you need to check the oil sistem in the chain maybe the chain is dry 3:the chain is worn or a bad tension adjustment check this i hope this help to you

Gaurd will not release up smoothly, the gaurd will hit the table top not alowing saw to complete cut

for what brand and model, if this is a Makita the link bar and the plate that it rides on are possibly worn and need lubrication or replaced, also check the bolt holding the guard in place to make sure fully seated and tight Let me know and I will try and help.

Gaurd hits before it starts to retract.

does the guard move freely, when pulling down on the handle? or does it **** and seem to hang up. There is no adjustment on the guard that I am aware of but if you are still having problems you can call Makita Tech Support at 1-800-4625482. You will need the model number when talking to them.

Rear skirt on lawn mower flips under when backing up

Sounds like the skirt is too long for the cutting height you are using, either raise the cutting height or shorten the skirt. Remember it's a safety guard for trash kicked up when mowing!
