Updated details: Normal cycle keeps blinking

I finally got Normal light to turn off/stop blinking, then starts again when I select wash cycle & no heat. Should I have door open or closed when I press selectiondNormal-Heat Dry? Should I pause in between 1-2 minutes, then close door & wait 30 minutes? Any ideas? .....Added Info: I did try to run dishwasher nite b4 last & found it hadn't finished & water was in the bottom inside. I didn't catch what stage it was in, I just hit cancel/drain Normal light & it emptied all water. Actually that's when the Normal light & Start light were blinking & soak/scour were solid light. I did shut down breaker wait 30 min. & Start light, soak/scour light went off. Tried to hit Cancel/drain again but didn't work, so I thought it was almost reset. I then tried again by turning off Breaker, wait 30min. turned on and blinking normal light was off. Then I tried to start all over with setting the dishwasher to run again, but the minute I hit Normal it started flashing again. I went back & turned breaker off, wait 30min, turned on, pressed Cancel/drain(because it looked like the small lights showing the stages flashed on by wash & quickly turned off). It worked and attempted to drain water but there was none, then Normal light went off again. Now I'm back to flashing Normal light. Is there another way to completely reset (unfreeze)or(cancel) wash cycle. I tried it again but then nothing happened when I hit Cancel/drain. Any ideas? Thanks

The machine stops at wash cycle every minute or so

Firstly, the model 708 is way more than 9 years old. More like 18 - 19 years old. There is 2 types of errors on a smartdrive. One is signalled by a single beep every second & the top row of lights will change. The 2nd is a rippling musical sound (like when you turn the power on at the wall) and some lights will be blinking. You need to tell us what sound it is and which lights are blinking or which of the top row lights are on (exactly, count from the right to left and which number is on & which is off) There is no such thing as a reset to do. Once I know the fault I can advise you what to do about it.

Kenmore ultra wash dishwasher 665.15762 blinking lights

It is likely there are one or more faulty buttons on the control panel. The console will have to be replaced.

Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher LIghts are blinking....

I just read this for the same problem: push sanitize, then heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, cancel, then open and close the door. It worked. The dishwasher is running correctly even as I type this.

Dishwasher lights blinking

QuietGuard3: Clean light flashing 7 times? Press Heated Dry, press Normal Wash, then press Heated Dry again and press Normal Wash again (that's 4 button-presses) and that should fix it.

Clean light keeps blinking and I can't start a new cycle

Puppa, clear the fault by pressing the keys in this order: high temp scrb--air dry--high temp scrub--air dry. Or, depending on your model..Sani rinse--air dry--sani rinse--air dry. The dishwasher will enter the service mode. Let it do it's thing or advance it through it by pressing the start key. The fault came from the board not sensing a rise in the water temp. Make sure to run the hot water before starting the dishwasher. The heating element runs through the nuetral side of the door switch so make sure the d/w is level and the door switches are all making. The element itself could be at fault. Catriver...post back
