SOURCE: My Cub cadet pto cluch bearing is froze up on my 2518 lawn tracto

A medium length extension (stuck through the grill), a swivel and an impact is all you need to remove the pulley with the frozen bearing. It's just a bolt, a washer, and a lock washer holding it on. You just need to remove the pulley to see if the bearing is stuck. Take the pulley to your local shop that can press bearings and you can be up and running for $20 dollars instead of $300. Here's a diagram I found on partstree:

SOURCE: cub cadet 1641 lawn tractor won't start

Beings you can get to the solenoid I would check it first. There is a small post (not battery or starter), touch a jumper wire from battery to this post. Then with a test light check the wire to that post w/key in start position (remember you must be in regular start condition for this test). If no light, you can only go to each switch one at a time and bypass then try to start again. Not sure how many there are.

SOURCE: When I pull up on the PTO lever the blades don't

You have a belt adjustment problem, or a broken belt. Look at the area where the belts are, you will probably see problem immediately. Good Luck

SOURCE: my cub cadet tractor starts but the pto clutch stays engeged and i cant shut it off(pto)

The clutch has it's own brearings in it. You have to replace the hole PTO.Sometimes you can find a Aftermarket PTO clutch. There usually A little cheaper.

I have an LT 1018. The PTO suddenly won't engage. I checked immediately after and found a broken spring sitting on the deck. I am pretty sure I have the right replacement spring, but I can't find where it...

There are 2 springs involved with PTO and deck belt system. They both connect to bolts standoffs. I linking you the parts diagram at Partstree where you can look at the parts layout. Hope this helps.

A spring keeps the tension on a PTO belt. It may be broke or unhooked.

My Allis Chalmers 6080 PTO will not shut off with the lever. Even though I pull the lever to stop PTO, it stays engaged. Any answer to this issue?

The lever is maybe not engageing the electrical switch so if it worked good in the past something has worn or come loose.Find the point where the lever engages the switch and there are usually 2 wires running to the pto. Also one or more wires might be off the pto.Go from one thing the lever does to the next step and it might be a bad switch if the lever is working the switch and it still does not turn off.Hope this helps

I have a 42" mtd lawn tractor. The blades do not

The blades engage via a belt, that goes around a series of pullies, one of those pullies is a tension pulley that is connected to your pto lever by springs, the engine has nothing to do with your blades until after you engage the lever, I would check your belt. It could be loose, and if you engage the blades it could take it a few to get up to speed, thus making it seem like its only when the engine is warm.
Does everything else work fine? As in the tractor moves when the blades are not engaged?

While mowing the deck disengages

If it has an electric PTO you may have an electrical issue. If it has a belt drive deck with a manual lever, you need to adjust the spring tension.

DTY 4000 tractor dies when engaging pto, new

Hi,
This is just a suggestion. Try pulling the choke out about one third to one half and then engage the PTO. Sometimes the air idle adjust screw port gets a tiny speck of debris in it. If with the choke partially out and the PTO engages the just grab a screwdriver and turn the air idle mixture screw counter clockwise a hair.

PTO cable is real loose. My deck blade will engage on their own after running for awhile. I could not see where PTO cable attaches to idler pulley on belts?

Sounds like the belt is stretched or the tension spring has become detached or stretched. Also check that the pulleys are mounted solidly and run flat and do not wobble. Also check that the idler are has not cracked and twisted (mine did last month and then threw a chukof steel out sideways).

Craftsman 26hp Garden Tractor PTO not working

If you changed the belt make sure it did not interfere with the wire that runs from the pto clutch, sometimes that belt can rub on the wire and wear through it,also if you had the clutch off make sure you aligned the steel retainer bolt that sets in the alignment hole on the pto clutch, this keeps the clutch from spring when disengaged if you don't get that pin through the hole in clutch it can push on the clutch and bind it.Also it may be possible to plug that pto switch in backwards. Also if you jumped the fuse out it may now have burnt the switch or wiring somewhere.
