Why is router not being recognized anymore?

When I try to connect it says unidentified network and when I troubleshoot I get a local area connection doesn't have a valid ip prompt. Was working fine, I left and came back home and it wasn't working?

If you look closely at the rear panel of your router you will find a little hole close to the Internet cable connector. Turn the power on and using a pin that will fit the hole, gently press the reset button of the router which is mounted in the internal board. This process will reset the router back to its original factory settings.
This process should solve your issues.
Good luck!

Try to reset the router. Pull the power plug, wait a few seconds and turn it back in. Most of the time this will help.

Unidentified network which has limited connectivity

You're network card may be disabled, and that would be why you are unable to connect to yout network/the internet through your network card, to check this go to your network settings, right click on the "Local Area Connection" and if the option is there to "enable" then click it because your card has been disabled, if disable is there in stead then I'm stumped. with regards to "unidentified network" This usually comes up when someone has a wireless network created, but they have the settings made to not broadcast (show) the SSID (name) of the network. This is done for extra security, because in order for someone to connect to the wireless signal they need to know the type of encryption used, the key or passphrase for the encryption and on top of that the network name. Limited connectivity means that you are "connected" only in the sense that you can see the network connection, but you are unable to do anything with it.

Mode, Router, hub problems

Since you cant swap out the hub with a known working one, then the best advice that I can give you is to try to plug in the computer directly into the modem. If the Local Area Connection is able to gain a connection then you know without a doubt it was the hub causing problems. They actually dont sell hub's anymore but switches, here is a link to bestbuy.com that has a listing of switches and their prices that you can check out --> Best Buy Switches

Linksys Wireless-N pci adapter model wmp300n

If it says local or unidentified network that means you are just connected to the router on the network but not through the internet. Try to go to manage wireless network, remover your network there and add it again, connect to your own network and make sure to type the correct network key., then check again. You can also try connecting to other wireless network to further isolate the problem.
