I have a Grundig FR-300 hand held radio, that I accidently dropped into the toilet, a while back, The AM and FM work but the Digital display doezn`t work, can that be fixed to work?

It would need to be opened up to remove any salts or other things in the water. If the toilet water contained any flush additives they could have attacked the internal parts. In which case I think it would become very costly to repair.
If it is just a case of stuff causing a short circuit, then a clean and dry should solve it.

Take the battery out and stick it into a bin (or bag) of uncooked rice for 24 to 48 hours; this should draw out any moisture in the unit. If that doesn't fix it consider looking for a new one.

Spray some WD-40 on the on/off button and press and release the button multiple times. This will clean the gunk built up on the micro-switch and make a better connection.

It's lowest operating frequency should be 100 kHz, unless it has been altered. What you would hear below 100 kHz is a mystery.

Open the unit up and check the speaker is working, speaker may be blown.

Replacement is possible, the back of the radio needs to come off and there is a screw at the bottom of the antenna. Remove this and the old one will slide out and simple to install new one. Call Eton for replacement, can be foung with a google search....

If the radio uses memory batteries, try changing these with new alkalines. The microprocessor needs this power to drive the display.

Anything could happen in a fall, no telling what needs attention, could be a bad battery connection a cracked circuit board. If it is under warranty send it in if not a good technician is needed.

I had the same problem. Examined the wire from the transformer,and found a break. Repair of the wire solved the problem. WLD

The radio is analog with a digital display. Mine displays off all the time, you can try turning the other switches on it just slightly. Just move them a tiny amount. This seems to correct my problems. Heat is also another factor with these things, they drift all over the place.
