You might not have enough line on it to cast cleanly.

How to unlock 2007 town car I locked keys in, I have slim jim kit, but need info on its use

It may sound like an impossible task, but you can unlock your car door in a matter of seconds with nothing more than one of your shoelaces. Take off a lace from one of your shoes (another type of string will also work), then tie a slipknot in the middle of it that you can tighten by pulling on the string's ends.Hold one end of the string in each hand, slide it through the corner of the car door, and use a back-and-forth motion to get it down far enough so that the knot can slide over the doorknob. Once it's in place, pull on the string to tighten it and pull up to unlock it.

I have a smith corona electra 220 and the space bar does not advance the paper tot the next spot. everything else works. took the back cover off,a nd found a loose string coming from a black spool. can you...

That is what we call the draw string, there is a spring loaded pull that this string is. Wound around. The pulley has to be wound up and. Then the string fits in a. Little slot. Somme times the spring breaks in the pulley, the string fits in a slot by .a knot which sometimes breaks, sorry about the bad news, the string is fishing line and wears out as it gets old.

The string broke. It is a yard machine lawn mower

Take pull string housing off. Looks like 3 or 4 screws. Should be able to restring from under side. Either buy new string or if old string is long enough, just tie knot on the end. Good luck

The pull starter on my Morrison BC260B S2 won't

hello sir, i'm guessing the rope is broken , first you'll need a c-clamp large enough to clamp the spooler, needle-nose pliers,a small tipped screwdriver and a new length of rope.the safest way is to remove the rewind assembly cover leaving the spooler in place in its housing. try to remove the old rope with neddle nose pliers ans small tipped screwdriver.next hand spin the spooler to achieve spring tension until stops back off enough to line holes up, place c-clamp to hold it in place, now try to fish the new rope into the hole in the knot recess, trying to guide it to the exit hole in the cover, ( it's easier to feed the rope if you singe the end of the rope with a bic lighter and form to a point )and with a small knot at the other end, pull the rope all the way until you can seat the knot into the knot recess.next tie a loop knot into the other end of the rope,so the end wont be recoiled all the way into the housing.with tesion on the rope gently remove the c-clamp and let the rope be drawed in.if it draws all the way to the loop knot, check to see if the spooler is full if so,( not too full where rope is binding ) pull the rope about a foot and re clamp the spooler and install the pull handle, if rope is too long you may have to cut to length. if it doesn't draw all the way to the loop knot and the spooler is not full than you may need to add anoyher revolution to the spring tension in the same fashion as described above.there are eisier ways but that evolves removal of the spooler and repacking the reciol spring.( not for the novice ). hope this helps, thank you.

When i pump the primer to start it pumps air into the tank and not to carb

Sounds like the pickup line for the primer is not far enough into the tank. Most primer lines are only far enough in the tank to work if the fuel tank is completely full. The primer works like a suction, air is pushed into the tank and the expanding bulb draws fuel into itself. A longer primer line can be installed, and most saw or trimmer dealers will carry rolls of it. Let me know if you need anything else or if this helps, Daniel.

String caught in the motor

OK - first things first. There's no way a shoe string, or anything else, can possibly get caught in the motor. If the string isn't wrapped around the brush roll it's probably gone through in to the bag. Please reply, describing the symptoms you've observed in as much detail as possible, then maybe we can figure out just what's happened.

I need to fix athe pull string on my toro push behind mower. it has an 195cc tecumseh motor. the string broke and i can't find anything on toro about how to fix it without buying the whole assembly.

remove bolts from cover and remove the cover. Should be able to access the assembly for the pull rope. Go to a local mower repair shop buy some new line. The old line should just be knotted up on the spring loaded wheel in there. You put a new piece on put in a new knot, put some turns on the assembly to basically wing the spring so it snaps back when pulled, put line through whole and attach to pull handle.

Stihl 015 Chainsaw - Change Pull Start rope

You have 3 screws to take out. 1 by the trigger and 2 on the side cover ( one on top and 1 on bottom).
The first thing you want to do is remove spark plug. After plug is removed carefully separate the housing paying attention not to lose the little spring holding the trigger when it comes apart. You can do this with the bar/chain on, but easier to handle without it. After it comes apart you can remove spring clip holding flywheel on. Be careful to lift the flywheel straight up slowly making sure the coil spring does not come up with the flywheel. If you just move it back and forth a little while moving the flywheel off the shaft. Take the rope off and measure it. I think its about 18" but try to measure the one on there. Make sure you knot the rope leaving a small tail so when the knot is tightened it has a little room to move without coming undone. After you wind the rope (clockwise) leave about 1/2 '' of rope sticking up in the notch on side of reel . Slide the wheel down and make sure the bottom notch on wheel is going to engage the coil spring when the wheel is turned.Replace spring clip on the shaft. If you have a problem with the clip, you may not be down far enough with the wheel. Turn the wheel about 1 1/2 to 2 full turns putting tension on the spring and making sure the rope sticking up is close to the the hole you need to string it through to tie in the handle. After you feed the rope through the hole (making sure you are adding more pressure on the spring as you pull the rope out, enough rope to work comfortably with the handle I take a fat bladed screwdriver and stick it down in between the wheel and housing to stop it from unwinding. Then string it through the handle with the same kind of knot used for the flywheel. After your handle is secure you can remove the screw driver and see how it works before re-assembling. Putting the housing back together requires patience making sure the housing fits over the flywheel and trigger area goes together nice.

Tips: If you need aid in stringing the rope through the handle I take about 6" of electrical tape wrap it around the end of the rope about 5 times and make sure as you wind the tape is moving towards the end of the rope and you can have a tail off the end of the rope to send through the handle. Good Luck
