You have two options one is of course a replacement drive but the other is replacing the little hard drive with a flash disk. The flash drive is nothing more than a 4gb compact flash memory card that happens to use the same connector as the Hitachi hard drive. Of the two I'd go flash myself.

The flash disk is faster and uses far less power so your battery life can increase by quite a bit. I think it is something like 10% of the power. Next to the display this is the single biggest power item. I've heard of the useful battery life increasing anywhere from 3x to about 6x after doing this. You can get the drive or flash from several places online. These are the same CF cards as used in many cameras. Most also offer the installation service.

Here is a link to one place but do a few searches and compare prices etc. Just search for lifedrive, flash, drive or lifedrive hard drive replacement and you should get quite a few.

PXE-E61: MEDIA TEST FAILuRE, CHECK CABLE PXE-M0F: EXITING NVIDIA BOOT AGENT. REBOOT AND SELECT PROPER BOOT DEVICE

Hope this helps. I assume cable is good, try to listen by drawing your ear nearer to the disk. The normal sound of the harddisk as the disk spindle comes to work when given power, a uniform thin sound of rotating motor. The abnormal rotations sounds like initializing motor-kicking and died down in cycle or it gives audible clicking sound due to arm-head drive coil initialization failure, it may also give a scratching sound when the tiny head crashed against the disk. By then, this audible signs gives us hint that the harddisk has a fatal error. However you can try another good cable, attaching it to another sata port, power connector and trying it to run on another pc. Hope it gives good signs that your disk is alive.

Harddisk failure. Claim warranty if still available.
No warranty then buy a new harddisk, swap it and re-install OS.

Wifi connection issues with Palm One LifeDrive

It sounds like you need to setup the network settings on the palm or the wep or securty key or both.

When it shows the network id tap edit then enter the wep or wpa key if needed, then tap details to get to the screen where you enter the normal network details.

Usually it is just the security key that causes this. Get that code in and you might pop right on.

My computer didn't recognize my harddis

Ok, the data may not be lost.
Need info:

- what kind of HD
- what operating system you use; windows?
- what kind of HD, is it a SATA drive?
- When you boot, (windows) do you see the drive (the faulty one) note the drive make and model number
- is this the BOOT drive or you just use it for data?

Lose of Master Harddrive

have a check with the BUS cable once try replacing the BUS cable which is connected to the HARDDISK .. there may be some problem in the IDE BUS CABLE...

you can fix that by replacing with the new one ...

this problem is not where related to BIOS ..
because if there is any problem in the IDE BUS CABLE means you will face this problem ..

there is one more case it is not oftenly seen actually ..

ie if there is any problem in harddisk means you will face this problem ..

normally the harddisk will work without any problem for 10+ years ...

in very special cases the harddisk failure occurs which is called as catastrophic failure ie the harddisk makes some hissing noise before when it attempts run , this problem may be due to some manufacture defect or if the harddisk is not being used for a long period of time (may be years) ...

so just have a check with things everything will be alright ..

thank you
bye
any doubts you can reply me

Palm lifedrive frozen 'secure erase'

You may be experiecing failure of the microdrive. Those are typical of it failing or having failed.

Having said that have your tried the hard reset buy holding the 5 way down while sliding the power switch? This is slightly different than the older secure but you need the update 2 to have it. This will erase and reformat and reload the entire system a bit more thouroughly than the older secure erase.
It might get you out of the cycle which is more important.

Palm LifeDrive

just press the time in the top left hand corner of the lifedrive and a dropdown menu comes down with the option "delete" but this is only for apps. if you want to delete media files, search for a file manager on freewarepalm.com

My harddisk doesn't turn on...

We call them in the industry Death Stars! I have had several just die on me! If the drive does not show in the BIOS then you can't do a low level format! All the ones that have died on me have burnt out components on there circuit boards. Way to small for me to solder! So they were thrown away!
