DS game card not registering- tried Q-tip and eraser
I recently ordered a Nintendo DS game which, when I insert it into a DS, does not register as a game. The screen reads; "There is no DS card inserted." I've tried both rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip and a cut eraser and neither of these options have worked. Naturally, I can just send the game back, but I'd first like to exhaust all other options before doing so. Any assistance would be very much appreciated.
Well the slot might be broken. I recommend if it still has a waranty bringing it back to where you purchased it then tell them the problem and they will give you a new one.
Your name and such are in the console. Remove the battery and this info is gone.
Your saved games, high scores and such are in the game catridge, and just about every game has the option of removing this data from the menu... somewhere... (they are all different).

Blow in the NDSL card and the slot 1 (Avoid blowing with spittle). If you use R4/Acekard/etc.:Look for dust/dirt in micro sd card. Clean it. Not working? Probably the problem is slot 1 connector. Need to change it.
my son's DS had the same problem this week. With the DS turned off, ,I pushed the game in and held it right down while turning the DS on. The game registered and I let go of the game and it clicked in to place. The next time I tried the game it registered straight away. Good luck!
Where did you buy this game? Is it from a reliable source? There's been known fake DS games that don't work. And usually the case is the game shows a message "can not access saved data. please turn of power and re-insert game". This is actually my first time with a case where it can't erase the data. Try contacting the previous owner.
It may be that the game is damaged or the DS isn't reading the game card correctly.
This is usually due to dirt or other artifacts on the metal contacts on the bottom back side of the game card. These metal contacts need to touch the metal contacts inside the DS in order for it to read.
It is also common that these get scratched up and harder for some DS machines to read.
Best ways to deal with this is you use a small Q-tip and dust off the contacts on the card. The contacts in the DS can get dirty, but are hard to clean. If you must, I suggest using a can of air to dust it out. A Q-tip would only make things worse as they often break apart and the DS game card contacts are hard to get at without opening the DS itself.
If those fail then there's one final solution. Send the game card to Nintendo for repairs. If it is no longer under warrenty it'll cost you a fee, but they'll repair or replace the card for you.
I'd suggest checking the card in differnt DS machines to see if its just your DS not reading it right or not.
try blowing into the part you put the game in, it seems to work for me, and many people have this problem.
Turn the ds off
Take your games out
Blow in the part where you put your games in, not to much...
put your games back in, and turn the ds on again, it should regognise it, if it dosn't then it might be the game
