In fact, so common that if you search for "stuck sim card in (fill in your device brand and maybe model)" you may pull up a video or instructions for your particular device. And you can even search for "sim card stuck in wrong slot." Acuatually, I would not be surprised to find "sim card stuck stuck in ear" for about any conceivable thing that can happen to a sim card has happened. That said, here are some videos:

You either have a dual SIM card phone (it can use two SIMs with two different phone numbers) or you're confusing the MicroSD memory card slot with the SIM card slot.

If you truly have a dual SIM card phone, just put the SIM card in slot 1. Your phone's user manual should be able to offer further info.

the outer section for maxi card slots and a inner section for mini slots
if you haven't thrown away the small piece around the sim card you can hold it in place as you insert the sim card in the slot

That's an SD memory card slot, not a SIM card slot.

The slot you are mentioning sounds like a card reader, its used for SD memory cards which you would normally use in a camera.

The insert sim card happen due to the problem in Sim card holder slot and the IC related to it.Contact the service center they will check the sim card slot and provide you a solution either by cleaning the slot and PCB board or replacing IC

That slot is an ExpressCard Slot for WWAN cards that require a sim card in order to connect to the provider's network. Not all WWAN cards require sim cards to connect. If you get an ExpressCard WWAN card, and that card requires a sim to connect, then usually there will be a place on the card itself to put the sim. The sim slot in the battery bay is because most mini-cards do not have room to add the required sim card slot and still fit into the system.
