Hi have recently bought an AWA television from Gumtree that game without a remote. Seller said we could tune from side of the tv but the menu for tuning you can go up and down with volume button and left or right with channel buttons, so there is no select button. Have bought a universal remote but doesn't seem to be compatible with the specific tv model. Any suggestions. If I buy a set top box can I tune it from there even though there is built in digital transmission? Any help is very appreciated, Thank you!
Universal remotes don't do all the functions that a manufacturer remote do not

If you use a set top box tuner the TV will become the monitor and the box will become the tuner and use one of the rear or side video inputs and bypass the internal tuner and just programme the stb remote to set the TV volume to the desired level
