Materials:

USB data cable.
PC Suite mobile software.

What is a data cable?

A data cable is a long cord, which connects your computer with your cell phone in order to share data between them. The data cable transfers electrical signals from cell phone to computer and computer to cell phone.

What is PC Suite mobile software?

You can buy the following commercially or on eBay for about $10. It contains everything you'll need.

So you didn't get a CD and a data cable when purchasing your phone?
Just google your phone's brand and model number to search and download the cd's content also called pc suite.

Once the software is downloaded, install the software.

While installing the software, it may be required to connect your phone to the computer using the data cable that come with your phone.

When the installation is completed, connect your phone with the computer using the data cable.
Now run the installed software on the computer and through it you can access your phone.

According to your mobile handset model have two features to connect with PC.

Install Samsung PC studio software (Downloadable from website) in your PC.

Connect your handset with PC through USB data cable and wait for detection.

Go to the Phone settings in your handset then open the PC connection wizard and select Samsung PC studio option.

Now open the software access your mobile or transfer your data. Net access is also possible through this way after activating GPRS.

Here have another way to transfer data. Your Handset have Bluetooth facility.

Activate your Bluetooth from your hand set.

Use a Bluetooth dongle in your PC and install it

For Nokia handset you upgrade the software by using the normal data cable as well:

First you need to download the "nokia software updater" from Nokia site, Here is the website you can download nokia software updater:

select the model, you will get download button.

Install the nokia software updater, Connect your phone to pc by using normal data cable:

Run nokia software updater.
you need an internet connection while doing the updating.

Follow the procedures in the nokia software updater, Once the process is done in the nokia software updater, it will update your phone software.

Note: Remember Never switch off the PC or Power or disconnect the phone while the updating is in phone this might damage your phone.


The normal data cable is DKU-2 series compatible.
The flashing cables are bit costly, so i suggest you to go by these above mentioned steps to update software by using normal data cable.

1. Step 1: Check To See If You Have The data Cable And SoftwareMost mobile phones nowadays come standard with a USB data transfer cable and bundled software utility. Check the box that your mobile phone came with for the cable and CD-Rom. If not provided with the software, it may be available as a free download from the manufacturer’s website. If your phone did not come with a data cable, check the manual if your model supports data cable transfers.

Most manufacturers offer some form of phone browser where you can browse through the content on your phone, copying files onto, or taking files off the mobile. The software utility may also offer a separate tool for transferring photos and video shot with your mobile, if this is the case use the utility!
   
7. Step 5: Transfer Mobile Phone Photos Onto Your PCUse the software’s browser or photo utility to transfer your photographs to your PC. Some software tools provide image editing tools as well that will enable cropping, rotation, and sharpening of images once transferred to you PC. Don’t be afraid of referring to the software’s help file incase you get stuck.
   
8. As phone models and manufacturers vary, it is always a good practice to read through the mobile phone user manual and the software's help or readme file while using this guide. It is also always good practice to use the backup function of the software first to ensure you can restore your phone back to its original state should anything happen to it.

do you have the installer for your phone? if you have, try these steps..
1. restart your pc (to make it fresh,and hereby erasing some problems created during your cable connection)
2. install the software for your phone model(make sure it is compatible to your operating system)
3. connect the usb data cable, let it install automatically first.

repeat step no 1, 2 and 3, but this time, don't let install automatically,instead..
1. open your device manager
2. look for your usb data cable.
3. update driver.
4. uncheck the look for the best driver automatically
5. check the box for ''include the driver in this location''
6. browse where you installed your software, preferably it goes to c drive, program files.
7. check if it will install..

HI,I AM FAYZAN KHAN IF U WANT TO CONNECT YOUR JAM WITH YOUR PC, FIRST YOU HAVE TO INSTALL "ACTIVE SYNC" SOFTWARE IN YOUR PC. REMEMBER THAT YOUR JAM HAS ALSO THIS SOFTWARE JUST PLUG IN THE DATA CABLE YOUR JAM COULD BE CONNECTED TO YOUR PC.

You need to buy it. Its the only way.
