I have a new Frigidaire Professional gas range. I am trying to convert it to propane and I do not know how to convert the oven burner.

  • Mike McIntyre Aug 29, 2015

Yes I have the conversion kit and have converted the top burners and the regulator but cannot figure out how or where to adjust the bake burner. The instructions that came with the conversion kit do not seem to correspond with my model.

SOURCE: Coverting a Vulcan 260L commercial range to Propane

Yes you can convert to LP gas. go to this web site to get the parts.
http://www.vulcanhart.com/manuals/F-30536.pdf
Go to page 9 and look at parts # 57 - 60 that is the part you need to change. You need to know the sea level that you are at though so you get the right part.
Now if you go to page 8 you will find where it goes part # 53 thru 61
To order the parts go to this web site

SOURCE: frigidaire gas range ES100 oven will not light

I had a similar problem with my Kenmore and it was the Igniter. Cost me about $85.00 for a new one. Sometime on the back of the range there is a little pocket where sometimes a schematic is there and ( I don't know about your Frigidaire) but with my Kenmore it gave troubleshooting info that was very helpful in determining the problem.

SOURCE: It takes too long for the oven to reach the desired temperature.

Sounds like your ceramic ignitors have worn out - apparently they are to be replaced every 3-5 years. I had the same issue - oven took forever to het up.

I have two ingnitors in the larger oven & 1in the smaller one. Easy to replace (60$/each) - two wire and one screw each. The theory is when they fail to heat up properly the gas valve doesn't open fully, or won't open at all.

Also I'd clean the burners when in there ... mine corroded a bit and required brass wire brushing. There is a small horizontal cut ont the burner that goes one half the way around the burner that had 'filled in' (the cut is about the thickness of a piece of paper) which prevented the flame from moving to the opposite side of the burner - so essentially only one side of the burner lit.

Frigidaire model ffgf3012tw im converting to propane but the instructions dont say anything about the changing the orvis in the oven and the kit cam with just 4 orvis for the stove burners.

the method when converting gasses is to use different jet sizes required for the new gas in use
it also means that the air shrouds have to be adjusted to maintain the correct burn ratio and get a blue or colorless flame and a possible adjustment or the pressure regulator
Gas is NOT in the domain of the DIY and only a qualified accredited gas fitter should be doing the job

What you do is tighten down the spud on the oven safety valve. themobilian_221.jpg
Get a good wrench and in the case of propane or LP you tighten down clockwise on that spud. Then open the air shutter all the way.

I have a Frigidaire Stove, Model # FGF316ASA. It was changed from propane to natural gas. The oven works well. The burners, however, will only burn a low flame. Is there a solution for this?

When converting an appliance from propane gas to natural sometimes a technician will drill the orifice to a larger size rather than replace the orifices. Either way is fine, but sometimes the orifices don't get drilled to the correct size. The regulator must be on the propane setting if it is a convertible regulator. If your oven is working fine.... the top burner orifices probably need to be checked that they are the correct size. A simple fix.

Converting from natural gas to propane

Where do all orifices go on anything gas? Right there where the burner meets gas valve. The air shutter sits right in front of the orifice for proper air to gas ratio right.Go out and look at yer gas grill. Where the burners meet the gas valve ye shall find the orifice.
