What film does a Pentax Z50P take?

Just got a Pentax Z50P and as I am new to camera's I just wanted to ask what film does it take and where would be a good place to purchase online. I'm unable to find a manual for it so I thought I'd ask here :-) Cheers

SOURCE: pentax zxm user guide?

There is a good review on the following link: http://members.tripod.com/ZXM/zxm_test.html Really you do need to get the full manual, it is "only" 56 pages & there is no better guide. You can download the manual from the link below: http://www.pentaximaging.com/files/manual/ZX-M.pdf Please update the question & let us know if the information given was useful to you - Good Luck!

SOURCE: Pentax zx-50 Shutter Problems?

I really think this is the classic zx - 50 shutter motor problem : small motor on the side of the mirror box is not cocking the shutter . This is very repairable but unfortunately it requires fair amount stripping down of the camera to get to the fault and so you will have to take it in for repairs.

SOURCE: Film advance lever

Yes this is fairly common with K 1000 and the Spotmatics : although the shutter is cocked and hence you cannot advance film you cannot release shutter because mirror box is not cocked. Remedy : remove bottom cover and locate mirror box lever which protrudes slightely and is movable up and down and is spring loaded. Move upwards until it licks in position ( moving up against spring tension ). Now release the shutter and camera should let you advance the film .

SOURCE: film won't advance

Pentax ME Super was one of my favorite camera, small and clean shutter release. But it has been about 25 years since it was manufactured. They happen to use rubber break within shutter unit and as any rubbers, it started to deteriorate and melt between the shutter-blades. This prevents the complete cycle of the shutter and jams the winding. You may be able to unjam the winding but eventually you have to overhaul the shutter unit. Overhaul charge is around $100 in US repair market. -James

Why don't they just download what you ask? they give all but what you ask. I want the simple operating instrusions for Pentax SLR camera

Who, exactly, are 'they' ? There are many models of Pentax SLR camera, both film and digital, and there is a different manual pertaining to the care and operation of each of these.

If you go to the Pentax Service Centre relevant to your place of residence, all the available manuals will probably be there. If the one that you require is not available, you may find it by doing a Google search for the make and model, followed by the word Manual.

For my pentax 160 Iq zoom, I can load the film into the camera but I still can not take any pictures. What can I do? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Does that camera have a battery to advance the film and operate the unit? U might just want to check that out and replace the battery. If nothing happens with new battery, then the camera is fubar.

U7 error code when Pentax Espio 200 camera switched on. What does it mean? Can I rewind and remove film to develop?

Its actually a technician code which means that your Zoom system has malfunctioned. If you want to remove the film then you can simply click the reset button and then remove the film. If you want to get it repaired then it would be better if you throw it and look for a new SLR Camera

My pentax zx-m rewinds new film as soon as i shut the door

When loading film, make sure to draw the film all the way to the receiving spool. If you don't pull the film far enough the camera thinks it's empty and rewinds the film.

I can't get my Pentax Z50P film camera to automatically focus.

Remove the lens and clean the contacts between the body and the lens with a pencil eraser. Make sure the camera is on Autofocus mode. If these don't solve the problem, take it to an authorized service center.

Film advance lever stuck

The shutter parts are most likely broken. That is usually the tell-tale sign of a broken camera, not advancing. Repairs for film cameras are very expensive and if parts are needed, it may be impossible for a 20+ year old camera. My suggestion is to find a replacement film camera system. Your Ricoh lenses will fit on a Pentax camera, but not work in Auto Mode. Prices of used Pentax cameras with built in motor drives are around $100. Check on line cameras stores. They have lots of use cameras/lense. A lens to use on that is another $75 or so. Only Nikon and Canon make new film cameras anymore. If you want an indestructable K-mount, find a Pentax K1000. Many lenses are available but no motor drive nor auto exposure on that model.

Manual Rewind Pentax PZ

Hi Joel,

If your battery is dead, just put in a new battery.

Go into somewhere that is completely dark and open the back of the camera and remove the film.
Or go Costco, WalMart and Kmart and they will do it for free.

Loaded film, but won't work and a "3" is flashing.

The IQ Zoom cameras are designed to display error codes (E0, E2, E9, E10, E1A, E37, E90, HL, H4, H5, etc.) when something goes wrong internally with one of the mechanisms or electronic components. These diagnostic displays help to determine where the problem is. When you see an error code, ask a qualified PENTAX repair technician to examine the camera. For information on a specific error code, call Pentax customer service department toll-free at 1-800-877-0155, Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm, Mountain Standard Time.
