I also have a 2009 Journey with the 6 disc changer. There is a 'LOAD' button to the right of the disc opening. Press 'LOAD' and wait for it to display "insert disc". The 'EJECT' button is on the left side (above the power knob) and the 'LOAD' button is on the right (above the volume knob).
Hope this is helpful.
You could find the manual on the internet by google. Im afraid that it's possible that it possibly broke the disc drive or the part of the drive that automatically loads and ejects the disc.
Hello The Sled Motor is defective. this is the motor, whic spins the disc as it has been loaded properly. If the loader mechanism loads the disc properly into place and if the catch up magnet catches the disc in place, and still the dis do not spins, replace the sled motor. OK.
It needs a new optical eye, also called laser eye. It's probably close to $100 total to replace, but I haven't worked on them in 10+ years so you may want to call an electronic shop anywhere and they should be able to give you a pretty good estimate if you ask specifically for that part change/repair.Greg
I don't have a solution at this time. I have the same DVD player and mine stopped working this past weekend. It is doing the same thing as yours. I opened the case and loaded a disc and watched the mechanism. The disc won't spin. if you tap the disc it will start spinning and load and start playing. I thought I had fully fixed it. It will load most times but now the video and audio stutters as if the discs is spinning at varying rates.
