To the other so-called solutions: your "solutions" sucked.
Here's how to do it: Click the "settings" icon on the screen. You get there by clicking the sides of the silver square surrounding the "ok" button (if there are no icons on the screen then click the "disp" button). Then in settings arrow down to the option that says "safe mode" (near the bottom) and change it's value from "Yes" to "No". Then the "format" will become available (2nd option from the last). Format the internal memory. Tada! Clean slate.
turn the camera on with the button on top, then take off the lens cap and insert a memory card into the side. The pictures will save to the memory card and you can buy an adapter to connect the memory card to your computer to view and save the pictures.
remove the flat battery in the middle of the camera and the memory will reset itself, but you will lose your pictures, then after 10 minutes replace the flat battery and everything will be back to normal. if the flat battery is death change it for a fresh one.
delete/move some/all of the pictures you have taken and stored to your camera's internal memory the internal memory on some of these camera's is quite small... does the camera have and SD slot? try saving your pictures to this instead if it has.. ultimately a camera is not meant as a storage medium for your pictues print them or transfer them to your computer.
