How to get wifi on acer aspire 1390 wireless

since you wer able to post this problem online , im sure you can have a few minutes to do this too. in just a few minutes you will be able to download these small files. I have copied the direct links for the drivers available for your machine.since it is for a desktop i'm sure the first link will be the right one.

Scroll down to the bottom - Wireless LAN
Underneath click right on -> Wireless LAN Driver

A small window will come up -
Opening WLAN_Atheros_7.6.0.224_XPx86_A.zip

Make SURE there is a Green dot in the small circle, to the left of Save File.
IF not; left-click in the empty circle to the left of Save File.
Go below in the small window, and click on OK.

A small download window will come up. Allow the file to download all the way, then DOUBLE-click right on the file name.
In the next window go to the far Left, and click on -
Extract all files.

At the bottom of the next 3 small windows, click on -
Next, Next, and Finish.
(Do NOT change anything in the second small window.
Just click on Next, Next, and Finish)

If you are not asked to restart your computer, do so.

When Windows has fully loaded again, you should get a pop-up out if the system tray, "Found new hardware device"

Plus perhaps another one, "Found Atheros wireless device".
(Or to that effect)

1. Open link Acer Support & Download Documents
2. Select product family, select Desktop
3. Select a product line, select Aspire
4. Select a product model, select Aspire Z3101
5. Select operating system, example: Windows 7 Home Basic x32
6. Select tab User Guides
7. Click Download Generic User Guides
8. After download finish, extract file Generic UG_Acer_1.0_A_A.rar
9. Open file, finish

could be just different wifi chipsets. these days also you may have 2.4/5ghz(802.11ac) what router do you have? most routers are now DUAL SIGNAL and have a 2nd wifi signal called GUEST generally this is for older slower WEP based security for old devices(which is what you have) as aspire one 722 is 802.11 b/g/N but not 5ghz and not ac. so its slow cos the router probably keeps negotiating for faster connection but your aspire cant do it and doesnt even know about it. Enable GUEST in your router and set it to N. The Acer Aspire X1300 User's Guide is the first file listed.

This file is a PDF file. The computer you are using has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.

After you left-click on - Acer Aspire X1300 User's Guide, you may not see anything happening for a few seconds.

The PDF file is downloading in the background.

Should you wish to save this PDF file to your computer, left-click on the Floppy Disk icon in the top header of the file.

(This way you can burn a copy off to a CD disk for safekeeping, and can also delete the file off of your computer, so that you will have more harddrive space)

The Floppy Disk icon is the second icon from the left, in the top header.

The wireless issue could be a variety of things embedded within the windows operating system.. You can try to right click on the setup file and attempt to select "install" if that function is not available you may be forced to reload your os for the computer to replace the damaged or corrupted files which handle the wifi interface to the 8255 controller.
