How do I factory reset an AT&T Alcatel model 98OYFOO

Turn off the device. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys. When the Alcatel logo displays, release both keys. Use the Volume Up/Down keys to navigate to wipe data/factory reset.

Under setting you will find reset option. There are 3 to 4 kind of reset mobile. Like internet and wifi setting reset, apps reset etc.

Try a reset.

Turn the device on.

Hold down the Power and WPS keys simultaneously for 13 seconds.

Wait for all LED indicators to flash blue 4 times.

This indicates the device has been reset to factory mode.

Manual for a similar but different model has a setting under Default Setting, Reset to Factory setting.

Unfortunately the only way to unlock is to carry out a hard reset, which will wipe all data from the phone and reset to factory default.
Just google search for 'Alcatel 5017B reset' for info on how ro reset the phone.

In order to use your phone again, you will need to enter the email (Gmail) and password while connected to the internet via WiFi or data connection. If not, you will have to do a Factory Reset. Do the following to do a Factory Reset:

• turn off the phone

• press the following simultaneously:

Volume up
Power button

• you will now be on recovery mode

(use volume buttons to navigate and power to choose)

• choose wipe data/Factory Reset

• choose yes--delete all user data

• choose reboot system now

Your unspecified model of Alvatel cell phone is buggy. Try to do a Factory Reset if bug goes away. You chould look up in your manual if factory reset is available, else you caould visit the office of your Mobile Service Provider, they know how to do a Factry Reset.
