NEEDLE LOCKED ON SHARK EURO PRO

Is the bobbin winder engaged? The smaller handle inside the balance wheel, the large handle. If the bobbin winder is engaged the thread will only wind around the bobbin and the needle does not move.

It should automatically be set on straight stitch when it is switched on. Which means the needle is in the centre. (Hope this wasn't the reason you were given it.)

Is the bobbin winder in the fill bobbin position? If it is then the needle will not go up and down.

be sure that the bobbin winder is not engaged.

Are you inserting the needle fully into clamp? You may have a bad lot of needles that werent straight. Try sewing by hand with machine to see exactly where and when needle breaks, then you might be able to solve problem.

I have a brand new sewing machine and the needle does not move up and down when I press the pedal. I already check to se if it was set up to wind a bobbin, because sometimes that is it, however no it isn't. Is there a special switch that I don't see?
