Device not connected

We just bought an E250R. When plugged into the computer, it charges and says its connected and we have had no problems downloading mp3's to it. However, I cannot get the Sansa Media Converter program to detect the player so I can put photo's on it. Any ideas?

I have the identical issue with my 250
Software does not show it connected, but the unit does as well as My Computer does.

i did that changed the mode but it still wont detect that my player is connected what do i do

Very similar but I can't get the sansa e250r to connect to rhapsody. the usb won't recognize the device and says something about possibly needing drivers. This was working fine on my old computer, windows xp, but i upgrade yesterday to a new computer with windows vista. Does that have anything to do with it? I tried updating firmware but nothing helps. Any ideas.

I have identical problem plus there is no mode select option in settings: no usb choice at all.

  • Anonymous Dec 31, 2007

I upgraded the firmware and the settings/usb option appeared. I tried both USB modes but still the Media Converter won't see the brand-new e250 Sansa. I connected a used e270 Sansa and it immediately was recognized. Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem with my e270, even though I have it in the proper mode. Any suggestions?

The Sansa Media Converter will only detect the device in MSC mode, or Plays For Sure (e250R) mode.

Change the mode in the Settings>MODE or USB MODE on the device and re-connect.

My sansa e250r will not connect to my pc I plug it in, it starts to charge but the computer doesn't even know it's plugged in kinda, nothing comes up, bearshare won't connect and nothing in my computer,...

To get the computer to recognize the player, you must engage the hold button and hold the rewind and menu button at the same time. Let me know if you need more help.

My computer wont reconize my mp3 player

Down load the firmware on Sansa's website. I have a Sansa 250R and it wouldn't work with the new replacement usb (Griffin) cord I bought at Best Buy. So I bought a Sansa Fuze and the cord that came with it worked on the E250R. Huh? Yeah, go figure...and oh, that replacement Griffin usb cord I bought worked fine with the new Fuze. I came real close to buying a new battery for the E250R but instead invested that money in the Fuze.

4 GB micro sd and the Sandisk Sansa e250R...

If the 4gb micro SD is a high capacity SD (it will say micro SDHC on it) your player may not be able to read SDHC cards, my sansa can't because it's the 'older version' it will read 2gb and below micro SD cards though (it sucked when I found out because I had just bought a 6gb micro SDHC)

New player, says I ran out of space

If you formatted it thru Windows Media Player, or Rhapsody, it didnt really format properly. Make sure the device is in Rhapsody Mode. Settings>Mode or USB Mode>Rhapsody. On your computer go to Disk Management. Right Click on My Computer and select Manage. On the next window select Disk Management, under Storage. On the right side at the top of the window you will see the device listed (i.e. Sansa e250r). Right click on the device and select format. Dont select any other options, just hit Start. Your device is now formatted properly. Best of Luck.
