I have IRT4520 for many years. But, now, when I turn on, it flashes with 188.8 except the lower half of the first 8 has a forward slash, and the 3rd 8 has a vertical line down in the middle. Instead of F/C , it shows an E. on the screen. It also shows the horn-like image, followed by mem, and E.
It doesn't do any reading at this point.
I have replaced the batteries, but it still has the same problem.

is the drawer that its stored in, in the bathroom? the humidity or moisture could affect it. I have had mine for 8 yrs and works perfectly. Are you placing the probe covers on correctly and waiting for it to click or a pop before inserting into ur ear.?

I had the same issue. I am going to replace my scan buffer boards. The upper half of mine works but the lower half is black so I would replace the lower Scan buffer board but in case of future issues I have ordered both upper and lower for $44.
The scan buffer boards are fairly simple to locate. Open up back of tv there are two biffer boards identical. The item or product code on them contain letters either SU or SD (Scan up and Scan down)Look up tv parts and item code you will find a place to order or just get the 1 800 number from tv manufacturer.

don't need to unpair the other phone, it will unpair itself.:
