SOURCE: 2005 Chevy Impala wont start

The most common cause of this problem on the Impalas is their @$!@ security system called Passlock or Passlock II. It is very sensitive and senses an intrusion a lot of times even when there is not one. When it does it locks down the fuel injectors. You can leave the key in the ignition in the on position and wait 10 minutes for it to re-set but it tends to do this 4-5 times a month at a minimum. The way to permanently solve this is to disable this portion of the system.
You will need to take the dash off ( it is not as hard as it seems) It is held in place with a variety of bolts, screws, and clips. You can do a web search for dash removal to try and find the exact configuration. Once the dash is out under the steering column there is a metal plate. It needs to come out also (held in place by a few bolts. Once this is removed you will have clear access to the underneath part of the steering column. Coming up the steering column you will see (3) wires grouped together. (Yellow, Black, and White). They will either be tied or taped together. The only one you need to concern yourself with is the yellow one. This is the most important step. (1) Start the car! (2) While the car is started snip the yellow wire, making sure it does not contact any metal. (3) using electrical tape or something similar cap off the ends and tie it off if you wish. (4) Turn off the car, put the plate back on, the dash back together and problem solved!. The yellow or orange security light will stay permanently illuminated, but it is not a problem. I did this on my Impala which I inherited 10 months ago and have never had this problem again. You can take the bulb out of the instrument cluster to for the security light but it is a lot of trouble and not worth the effort. Hope this helps..

SOURCE: Security System require start before unlock?

if this is a stock security system you should be able to change options but unfortunately it would have to be with a Gm tech 2. Im not sure this is 2002 option on that vehicle though. That doesnt sound familiar but it maybe possible.I will look into it more but reguardless it should be possible to disable that option with tech 2

How do I disengage the alarm system in a 2001 Chevy Tahoe

To disable the alarm system in a 2001 Chevy Tahoe, try the following steps:
  1. Close all doors and windows.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position.
  3. Within 10 seconds, press the lock button on the driver's door five times. The alarm system should turn off.
Note: The above steps assume that your 2001 Chevy Tahoe has a factory-installed alarm system. If it has an aftermarket alarm system, the steps to disengage it may be different.

Cant star 1996 jimmy after security alarm goes off

Is it a factory security alarm or aftermarket? Are you disarming the alarm using the fob? What happens when you try to start the Jimmy after disarming the alarm - do you get only a flashing "Security" or "Theft" light, or do you just hear a loud click noise?

My security system won't disarm on my 1999 chevy blazer

Is this an aftermarket alarm? If so, first locate the valet switch. It should be a black push button. Next, turn the ignition on, press and release the valet switch. This should disarm you aftermarket alarm. This is the most common manual disarm procedure for Directed (avital, python, Automate, Viper) and Audiovox (prestige, pursuit, code).

If this is the factory alarm and, you don't have the remote. Unlock the vehicle using your key in the driver's door.

I have 04 chevy impala. When I bought the car it came with and aftermarket alarm. Now it's giving me problem the remote is not working. I have to press a button on the remote to be able to start but it not...

the only fix for this is to have the aftermarket alarm removed out of the system. unless you can locate the manufacture of the alarm and purchase another remote.
