SOURCE: The machine leaks water all over the counter when starting brew

My keurig did the same thing, the rubber grommet around the part that punctures the cup gets grounds on it and prevents a complete seal. Pop of the grommet and clean it and it will be good as new.

Leaking water onto counter

When my coffe maker does that I have found i needed to remove (if possible) and clean the coffee filter housing, mine has a spring loaded valve that lets you get a cup halfway though the perk and it had gotten plugged up with grounds, and was overflowing.
Just rinse it out top and bottom and you should be good.
If you cant remove it, be sure to unplug the electrical first :)

empty the washer. then remove the bottom panel of the machine.put some water in it and see if the water is leaking when it is filling or full.I have seen a small hole in the tub just behind the bottom counter balance where the mounting bolt goes you may need to use a small mirror to look under there.f94b104.jpg

Leaking from the bottom

If it does it whenever the tank is put on the machine then the hose from the tank is disconnected.
If it does it when the machine is brewing coffee or after, then clean the chamber behind the brew unit, under the white plastic valve.
If it is leaking when making steam or hot water then the booster boilerhas a leak.

Water leaking

Depending on the age it could be just some orings leaking or a connection that has come loose. Or it could be the boiler leaking. Not knowing the age it is had to know which. You should google "saeco repair" and have an authorized repair center take a look.

Unit leaks out of the bottom

Mine just developed the same problem. Me being an engineer, I decided to take it apart and found the problem. There is an aluminum tube shaped like a "C" with a heating element inside of it. Water flows through this metal tube, is heated, and then pushed via steam pressure. There is a metal brace that holds this "C" piece securely to the bottom of the machine. This brace is sharp and overtightened, which caused a small hole to form in the metal, causing the leak (in my machine of course). I am currently researching how to patch aluminum so I can hopefully fix it.
