Hello, I am having trouble changing the bulb in my Panasonic PT-52LCX16 HDTV. The new bulb does not seem to be working. I change it out, and when I boot the TV up: - The green power light flashes. - Then the green power light stays constant and the red lamp light as well. - The normal change your lamp and reset the timer message shows up but only for about 2 seconds before the screen just goes black. It does not sound like the TV has turned off, but just the screen goes black and there are no more visuals. - Now the red lamp light turns off, and the green power light flashes. - The green power light flashes 35 times and then becomes constant as well as the red lamp light turns on. Then the red lamp light turns back off, and the green power light goes back to its 35 blink repetition. When I put the original dying bulb back in, it works perfectly. Still tells me to change it out, but it stays on and doesn't give me trouble

Make sure its an original Osram or Philips bulb inside the housing. If its a cheap lamp it will act this way. If it is an original lamp, then you may have a power supply issue. It shouldn't affect your TV but you may want to try resetting the lamp timer by following the instructions that came with the lamp.
TY-LA1001 Timer reset
While pressing the VOL- button on the projection display, hold down the number 0 button on the remote control at the same time for more than 5 seconds.
Hi rostit,
Thank you for your answer. According to the supplier it is an original Phillips lamp.
I have tried resetting the lamp in this manner and nothing happens. I have tried multiple times and nothing seems to change.
You said it may be a "power supply issue". Does this concern the new lamp itself?
Because, as said above, when I put the original old "dying" lamp back in, it works perfectly.
Thanks again for your help, I may just have to return the lamp and ask the supplier to make sure it is a genuine Phillips.
If you have any other thoughts, please let me know!
That is helpful to hear. If the old lamp still works then your power supply is fine(most likely). Occasionally the bulbs will be defective. If you look inside the cage(housing) make sure you see Philips UHP or Osram on the bulb. You also may want to check to see if the cage is locking in all the way. There is a tiny switch that is activated when the lamp and lamp cover are installed all the way and if they are not activated then you may get the same problem. Make 100% sure the lamp and doors are locked and seated.
