You need to determine if it is a Brushed or Brushless generator and follow the tests on the link below. (You will locate the brushes on the end of the alternator in a 12o'clock position if they are fitted).

Then contact Generator Guru with the results and they will let you know what needs replacing. This is a free service.

Generator will run, wont output electricity

You really didn't provide much info to work with - Knowing the make & model & size (as well as its age) would be helpful. Also is it new or have you had it for a while? What test equipment do you have? In other words, what are you using to determine if it is putting out electricity? Has it ever worked? All generators have individual circuit breakers, so try resetting those. If they trip-out immediately then disconnect the generator from the load. reset the circuit breaker(s) again & recheck the output some other way, such as by connecting a table lamp to it. If that works, then consider the possibility that your generator may be too small for the load that you're trying to connect to it. For example, a 2000 watt generator is good for a working load of 1000 watts but is too small for a 2000 watt load. If this is your first experience with a generator, check out the web site www.electricgenerators.com and refer to their sizing charts. Lots of good info there.

Hi, I have a nice master B150D that ran flawlessly last season, brought it out this year replaced nozzle, spark plug, new fuel. Fired it up ran for 30 sec. pop's the circuit breaker, reset, runs 20 sec....

if a circuit breaker pops i assume its an RCELD or is it a MCB type
it is some leakage to earth somewhere in the electrics
if it runs and pops the breaker
and you can plug it in and it will sit there
then i assume its something do do with the fan system
or ignitor . driver system
look for sources of leakage to earth
and you could measure the peek current it uses with a multimeter inline
set to AC amps

anyway its defo not a gonner just some bad electrics

All circuit breakers good in box. have no power to 3 rooms on outlets or lights . problem started when using a hair dryer hooked too a drop cord in a outlet

the first thing that I would check is to see if there is a GFI outlet inline with the other outlets that are not working,, if there is one then check to see if you can reset it using the little reset button -- if by using the reset button does not fix this problem then there is the chance that the GFI outlet is bad and needs to be replaced. the next thing that comes to mind is that you said the breakers in the box are good, but I have seen sometimes where you need to flip the breaker totally off and then back on and this could reset the breaker. if you are still having troubles then the problem could be that one of the outlets in line has gone bad and needs to be replaced or the breaker in the box could also be bad ( use a meter to check that you have power on the output side of the breaker and trace from there from outlet to outlet until you find the bad one ) ---- could also be just a bad wire and while testing with your meter you should find it as you test the wires to the outlets.

I just replaced 2 baseboard heaters in my home. 1 1000watt and 1 2500 watt , both are on the 1 breaker, I realized today that I had no heat and checked my breakers and a breaker had tripped out for the new...

Your new baseboard heaters are pulling more amps than your old ones.
Did you use the same wattage as the old heaters ?
What amp is the breaker ?
IF the heaters are 240volt then your load is ~15amps. Your breaker should be 20amps.

DEWALT DG6300B NO POWER OUTPUT

Hello avid.....

If there is no power to the receptacles:

1. Turn the circuit breaker switches off and disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.

2. Turn the circuit breakers on and test the GFCI's by following the procedures in this manual

on page 1 -

TO TEST A GFCI:

Start the generator. Turn the auto idle switch off. Push in the TEST button (A) on the receptacle.

The RESET button (B) will pop out. Power is now off at the receptacle.

If the RESET button does not pop out, the GFCI is not working. Do not run

generator until the problem can be corrected. To restore power to receptacle,

push the RESET button in. If the RESET button pops out during operation,
stop the generator and check the generator and equipment for defects.

3. Place the voltage selector to the 120 Volt only positions (unless you are using a tool that

requires 240 Volts).

4. Turn the idle control switch off.

5. Turn the circuit breaker(s) off and reconnect the electrical loads. Be sure that the plugs are

securely connected to the receptacles.

6. Turn the circuit breaker(s) on.

7. If there is still no power at the receptacles, take the generator to an authorized DEWALT
service center. To locate a DEWALT service center nearest to you, call 1-800-4-DEWALT

The compressor reset button trips often, , it reads within the specs under load 8-10amp or reset at 12amp , I hard wired it and its been working fine for 20 days now , should I buy a new reset button

I have read that a thin or long extension cable can cause this. But you can also circuit breaker that plugs into the line before the device. And I would think the breaker on the main board would be enough protection.

Frigidaire range PLES399EC tripped circuit during baking and breaker will not reset

It may have burned up the breaker. Depending on how comfortable you are with electric, you may want to call an electrician, especially since you are dealing with 220.
The best way to tell if the breaker is bad is to disconnect the two load wires from the breaker itself. If it will then stay open, the problem is likely with the range- check for continuity between the load wires going to the range... if you get continuity call your appliance repair man. If the breaker still trips, you need to replace it Sometimes with 220 this happens. Make sure you know what type of panel you have (or bring the old breaker with you) when you go to buy a new one. Also make sure they installed the correct amperage breaker (I think it should be double 40 amp)...
As I said if you aren't comfortable with electric call a pro.
