The Trane PTAC is made by a company called Goodman as is Amanna.
The chassis motor and compressor are really durable and work well, the weak link in this is the control board which not made by Trane or Goodman and some models have undergone at least 3 revisions.
Anyone with more than one of these PTAC's should make a spreadsheet with
Suite Num that the unit is installed in, The Model Number, Serial
Contact the Goodman Distributor in your area NOT the dealer with a call then a email then a letter include a copy of the spread sheet.
Tell them that you would like some assistance to remedy the known problem and would like to replace all boards with the upgraded ones.
Anything 3 years or newer should be free, and older than 3 years cost should be $50-100 per unit NO MORE than that.
Be firm and polite.
When upgraded these PTACs do work well.

Good Luck. Our TRANE PTAC units in our hotel have been a huge problem since install and we have had NO help from TRANE. I think they are wanting to sell units but when it comes to standing behind their product they drop the ball.
You need to replace your control board, but if you are can repair it by your self you can change the relay that supply the fan and condenser.
If it is just the condenser fan that means you have a fan relay that has welded shut. Turn power off to your unit and trace the wires from your condenser fan back into the control panel at the unit. You'll have 3 wires going to it. 2 go to the run capacitor and one goes to the fan relay. The one that goes to the fan relay is the part that needs to be replaced. If you have no fan relay and it goes to the main contractor, half of your main contractor is welded shut and will need to be replaced.

When the thermostat calls for cooling, the heat pump starts but the fan in the furnance does not come on. I have a Trane Model # TWE040E130A1 Air Handler Variable Speed. I tried turning the fan on by the thermostat , from auto to on, but the fan still did not come. How can I pinpoint if the problem is the controller board or the blower moter?
The unit freezes up and the blower motor does not run? I am getting power to the motor (getting hot).
