It is saying that the ink absorber is almost full how can we change this

This printer has an ink absorber that takes in ink during the printing and print head cleaning processes. The cleaning process is necessary in order to keep the print head nozzles from becoming clogged. Over the life of the printer, the amount of ink that the ink absorber has absorbed is calculated by the printer. Eventually, after substantial use, the printer will enter an error condition when the ink absorber is nearly full. At this point, printing is still possible. Press the button to cancel the error. You will still be able to print for a short period. To protect the printer from damage, you will not be able to print at all once the ink absorber is full.

Canon recommends having the printer serviced before the absorber becomes full. There are many "do-it-yourself" Web sites that offer instructions for making this repair. Replacing the ink absorber is a complicated and potentially messy procedure. Even if the ink absorber is successfully changed, the ink absorber counter must be reset. Be aware that if you attempt this procedure, it is at your own risk. I will not advise you as it is not a permanent solution.

Displaying error message: waste ink well almost full. What does this mean, & how do I fix it? Dave

Unfortunately you will need to take this type of printer into a Canon certified repair center. You have a total of 8 pads inside the printer located on the bottom of the printer and the only way to replace them and reset the waste ink counter is to take it in.

This is where you will want to debate the cost of repairing it or just buying a new printer. Depending on where you take it and how much they charge you for it will vary quite a bit. The company I work for does these but we charge roughly $89 an hour plus parts which alot of places dont keep in stock. So your looking at around a week for the absorber kit to be mailed out.

If your still able to print and its not saying that the ink absorber is full you can contact the nearest Canon repair center and have them pre order the absorber pads and when they come in you can just bring your printer in and they can change them out. It should not take them more then an hour to do this.

Here is the part numbers for each pad:
QC1-4264-000 ABSORBER, INK
QC1-4224-000 ABSORBER, INK
QC1-4223-000 ABSORBER, INK
QC1-4263-000 ABSORBER, INK
QC1-4257-000 ABSORBER, INK
QC1-4222-000 ABSORBER, INK
QC1-4864-000 ABSORBER, INK
QC1-4221-000 ABSORBER, INK

Best of luck!

So what they are saying more or less is throw out the printer because it's going to cost more to replace the absorber than to just buy a new printer.

If you ak me it's just another way these printer companies screw customers. Just my opinion.
Sorry about the bad news but at least you have your answer.

My cannon iP 2000 keeps that waste ink well is full how do I repair this

No repair is available. There is a little tray under where the cartridges rest and when the printer does a cleaning cycle, it squirts some ink into it. Eventually, the ink builds up and when the tray is full, it's time to change printers. Here is what Canon says:
