Your trunk opens... the roof? It would help if you had the make, model and year as well as a clearer question since I have yet to see a truck that opens a roof in any car.
If you mean you have two problems as in my trunk opens when I hit a bump or my trunk opens when I use the open button for the sun roof then we may hazard a guess.
WHAT YEAR IS IT, MAY BE YOU HAVE THE KEY SLOT TO LOCKED TRUNK, TRUCK SHOULD BE OPEN WHEN DOORS ARE OPEN, UNLESS YOU HAVE A VALET KEY AND NO PERMISSION FOR THE TRUNK TO OPEN, IT IS NOT THE REMOTE, ID THE KEY OR THE KEY POSSITION ON THE TRUNK.
fold down the rear seat and crawl to the back...there is a latch inside at the center of the trunk lid to open. All newer cars are mandated to have the inside release to prevent children from locking themselves in the trunk
if you can open the door from the outside of the truck when you look at the backside of the door you should see a little opening for the child safety locks one way locks the door so it cant be opened from the inside the way other way unlocks the safety latch the door should be able to be opened from the inside and outside of the truck
you need to put your shoulder into it from the inside of the truck... careful the door will likely spring open.... make sure you pull the latch to open the door as you bump it.
that's pretty much the only way you will get the door open
