Ensure that the correct keyboard is set, the region and language in control panel should match your region and language.
If the settings are correct ensure that there is no mistake in the keyboard selection in your system tray, (the bottom right corner of your screen.)
If all is as it should be fit a n external keyboard and see if that works okay...if it does you need a new keyboard.

Check Ebay for these, they are cheap and plentiful on that website usually.

Dell AQ6-7D20 Keyboard SPACE BAR NOT WORKING

Hello,

Try booting to safe mode and try it from there.

Here's how to boot to safe mode.

Restart your computer and tap F8. Once you see safe mode. Use the arrow key to highlight that and press enter.

Once inside safe mode, then check if your space bar works. If not, then you need to reset your keyboard (you can find tutorials in youtube). If it woks in safe mode, then do a system restore.

How to do system restore:

Click on Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Select a date or restoration point which is dated before the problem occurred. Launch it.

Please drop me a line if you have any questions.

How do i get my laptop screen thr right way up i pressed somthing and its gone upside down

You probably flipped the screen orientation (rotated it).

For some versions of Windows (XP and Vista), try pressing Control (Crtl)+Alt+Up arrow (press the three keys together). You can also try the other arrow keys with the Crtl+Alt keys. The Crtl and alt keys are both usually in the row with the space bar. On a full-size keyboard, there are two Ctrl keys on the ends of the row and the alt keys are closest to the space bar.

Otherwise, right click on the Desktop (where there are no programs or icons) and choose Graphics Options > Rotation. Another place to check is right click on the desktop and choose Screen Resolution > Orientation. This is a shortcut to accessing the display properties in the Control Panel. Click Start > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display > Screen Resolution. For a widescreen monitor, choose Landscape.

I hope this helps.

(The ctrl+alt+arrow key doesn't work on my Win7 desktop but does work on the laptop. The Orientation change from the control panel works on both.)

How do i adjust the contrast on my acer aspire 5738z laptop

@tonymclau330

Try the following:

For Windows Vista / 7
1. Press the Fn+Left Arrow Key for brightness down and Fn+Right Arrow Key for brightness up (the Fn key is located at the left side of the space bar)
2. If that won't work, go to Start > type Power Options and click on the Power options icon.

3. Adjust the screen brightness bar below.

My@ dont work when i pree shift and @.only works when i press shift and no2.

you seem to have the usa keyboard settings, i made this mistake too when i installed windows for the first time. At the system tray bottom left of your desktop where the clock is...right click on a bit of space there and click toolbars then click on language bar, it will bring a little arrow on your system tray. click the arrow and then on settings. you should now see a few options to change the language. when you have done that click apply or ok and voila, your @ should be where its meant to be. :) afterwards, just right click on the system tray again to unclick the language bar.

My launch or startbar is too big...

right click on the start bar (on a blank space not on the start button) if there is a check mark in front of the LOCK THE TASK BAR left click on the lock the taskbar to remove it. if no check is there the click on your desktop to make that go away. next take your mouse arrow to the top of your taskbar until the arrow becomes 2 arrows one pointing up and one pointing down left click and hold it while you drag downward until it is the size you want... right click on the taskbar again and lock it if you wish.
