Hello, my name is Steve.

Try this first....unplug the printer from the wall socket, wait 30 seconds, and then plug back in. If printer does not come on, re initialize power at power button on console.

The manor I explained to you is how to clear error message out of the memory.

If this does not clear error message, ,If you can remove ink cartridge from printer then repeat the previous sequence. Prior to you re=pluging in power, make sure ink access door is closed. Turn on printer and follow menu instructions. If you still have error code, it can be a faulty chip on ink cartridge, or a bad carriage....

Hope this helps,Steve

Printer cannot print test page. Cartiridges not sliing over to load position, "JE" flashing on printer

The "EJ" error code on the display screen indicates that the cartridge carrier has stalled. That explains why the cartridges are not moving to the center when you open the printer cover. Try to check in the cartridge area for a loose encoder strip (transparent strip). Make sure there are no foreign objects obstructing the cartridge carrier's path. If all is clear, close the printer cover. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, re-insert the cartridges. If error continues, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

Just Purchased A Hp Office Jet Pro 8500A. The printer says Pump Motor Stalled. What to do ?

Hi,

You mentioned this is brand new printer purchased and gives "Pump motor Stalled" Error. Since this is new unit, my suggestion would be to contact HP Tech support regarding this issue as your printer is In-warranty and if needed, the printer will be replaced without any cost.

OR,

If you have purchased the printer from a store like bestbuy, Costso, Walmart etc. you can return the printer to them and get another one exchanged ( Check their return policy )

HP Contact # - 1800-474-6836

Before you contact HP or return the printer to store, you can try few things to check if it works as "Pump Motor Stalled" generally is Hardware Issue.

Open the Printer front access door.
Remove the Cartridges and Printheads ( Printhead is that holds the cartridges, loosen the latch to remove it )
Clean the contacts ( Electrical or Golden contacts ) using lint free cloth. ( Cloth damped with few drops of water, squeezed properly )
Put the Printhead and Cartridges back and Turn off the printer and turn on.

If should not display the error. If it does, it is your choice whether to take the printer to store and get exchanged or contact HP.

Regards,
Ron
