Hi Gena!

This sounds very much to me as if the power supply connection is not as robust as it needs to be. We have an ST2000+ and find that if there is even a small amount of corrosion at the battery connections or even on the socket where the unit plugs into, we experience exactly the same symptoms you're referring to. Carefully check and clean all of these connections and spray a liberal amount of silicone spray or Fluid Film (my personal weapon of choice) on every electrical connection and see if this gives you any joy.

Hope this is of help to you.

Hi!
The ST1000+ does not have an internal GPS. What it does have is an electronic compass underneath the keypad. When you order the Tillerpilot to steer to a bearing, the unit uses the electronic compass to steer using a series of corrections.

Just in case you've misplaced your Owners Manual, you can use this link to download it to your computer: http://www.raymarine.com/productdocumentfinder.aspx

Click on your language preference, then Autopilots from the drop-down menu, tillerpilots and finally ST 1000+. The pdf file for your unit is 81130_6.pdf

Hope this helps and happy boating!

I have the same problem. Do you have a solution for it yet?
I do think it has to do something with decreasing power from my onboard accu. The first hour(s) sailing I don't have any problems, but after a while mine is jumping to STANDBY too, and the periods between become shorter, until less then 5 minutes.

My Ray Marine ST 1000 auto tiller pilot started setting stuck, but not consistantly. the shaft just vibrates in some spots but does not move. what could be the probable cause?

the worm gear that is inside the unit may need to lubricated,, remove the bottom case and lubricate gears and shaft with a teflon or silicone based lube. also on my sailboat when this happened I found that I needed to re-calibrate the unit - take the boat out into a very calm and open water and ' spin the boat ' in CAL mode ( this will re-orientate the internal compass ).
have fun on the water and have a great night,

Same thing happened to a friend using an ST2000+ (was reading 2000 instead of 1000). Found that that power (12 V) and ground had been mixed up, so that the internal reverse voltage protection keeps resetting the pilot each time a button was pressed.

Yes it can be repaired. Any Raymarine dealer should be able to help you out. If you can't find a local dealer, email me: [email protected] and I can give you pricing on the repair. I would need your serial number of the pilot.

Mens Relic watch stopped working after battry change

I suggest that your watch has an oxidized contacts and electricity can not reach the movement.
Do as folloes:
Take out the batttery,
Clean (scrape) all battery related contacts till they are shiny (use hardened steel needle for that),
Use the dust blower to get rid off any tiny dust and dirt particles after cleaning,
Refit the battery back.
Now your watch should work again.
If all written above do not help, then there is a problem with your watch and you will need the help of the watchmaker.
Do not forget to rate, please.

Timex Expedition Indiglo light no longer works?

Replace the back cover with the arrow pointing directly at the stem. Everything should work correctly with the cover in that position.
