Vizio vw47lfhdtv10a, screen went black,still have audio and with a flashlight I can see images. ages.

This model set had some issues with the backlight driver connector solder joints, make sure those are ok first, it they're ok it's a backlight issue

Is there a picture on the screen when you shine a flashlight at the TV screen?

If yes then the backlights are not working!

supply board is not the problem,you have to check the led strips on the back side of the screen ,be carefull not to crack the fine glass screen,and check inverter voltage connected to led strips.

Hello Jerry, for what you mention, the problem on your TV Vizio M43-C1, is in the backlighting, some of the LEDs that illuminate the LCD Panel are wrong and that is why you can not see the image
You have to change all the LEDs to do a correct job
I suggest you look for a specialized technical service

Hola Jerry, por lo que comentas, el problema en tu TV Vizio M43-C1, esta en la retroiluminacion, alguno de los LED, que iluminan el Panel LCD est?n mal y por eso no se ve la imagen
Hay que cambiar todos los LED para hacer un trabajo correcto
Te sugiero busques un servicio tecnico especializado

Hey Matt, It was nice speaking with you on 6YA. If I can be of anymore help feel free to ask. Several other forums I browsed recommend replacing both the LED Driver and the Power Board at the same time and several say one at a time is fine. Replace the LED Driver board then go from there.

Sounds like a main board that controls everything on the screen and then some.

Since a LCD do the flashlight test (what I call it) : darken the room as much as possible and with a flashlight and the set on look closely at the screen, see a very very faint image of the picture or not?

You need to perform the flashlight test. Turn off the lights in the room, turn the TV on, take a bright flashlight and shine it on the screen. Do you see the faint image on the screen?? You could have a defective backlight inverter, defective power supply, or a main board issue. You set will require diagnosis to determine.
