Do an Android Soft Reset.

Power Off
Press and Hold the Power button and the Volume Up button until you see the Recovery Console.

You can choose Reboot or Factory Reset.

Next to the home button on the bottom of the device is the reset button. Using something thin and long like a paper clip, push the reset button.

I don't have an iPad, but I did find this article. Sounds pretty much like what you're describing. Maybe this will help. It does say that making you connect to iTunes is for your protection in the event that someone steals your ipad.

Keep in mind, I have no idea how data is synced on an iPad, so I don't know if you may lose saved data on the device. Hopefully you've got that already synced/backed up:

Kurio won't come off blank screen, i've used the reset button, and the power with volume+ button and it's still the little kurio guy making the smiley face. i took the cover off, it's not hot. Any other suggestions as to re-boot it?

You can put eBooks on the tablet by using the Aldiko eBook app and your PC to put books in the library.

1) Download an ePub file to your computer. Use Google Books or another eBook store to get the file. Check out http://books.google.com
2) To transfer the ePub file, hook up the tablet to the PC.
3) First mount your USB Storage (Internal), from your PC go the removable disk, you should see the ebooks folder, create a sub folder and name it import.
4) Copy your epub file to the import folder.
5) Next turn off USB storage(Internal).
6) Launch Aldiko, click on Menu which should popup a menu with option such as import. Click on import. It will start to scan your sdcard for any epub files.
7) When the import is finished, click on Bookshelf to refresh. For some reason it just doesn't see any epub files from the USB Storage (ie from the MicroSDCard)
