This is conjecture but the incline motor is likely attached to a worm gear that lifts and then lowers the incline. There is also likely some kind of automatic "clutch" that disengages the motor from the worm drive after the raise or lower sequence is complete. If this clutch is broken or malfunctioning, then it may be trying to "grab" the worm gear when it is not supposed to (when not raising or lowering) or conversely, it may be losing its grip on the worm gear when the incline is happening. The clutch is likely controlled by an electric solenoid which may be malfunctioning. All this to say that it may be time to call a repair person.

Hi It sounds as if you may have a button stuck on your console. Thus not allowing any other buttons to be pushed. Remove the console from the treadmill and remove the backRemove and replace the ribbon cables that run from the keypads to the control board (they are flat plastic strips that push into the board).Remove and replace all the connections on the console. Reattach the console and calibrate by doing the following: 1. With the key off press the speed + and stop buttons at the same time and hold 2. place the key on and release the buttons 3. press the stop key once 4. press the speed up til it reaches 85 5. if your max speed is 10 mph then it should read about 9.8-10.2 If the keys will not work then the console is bad and would need replaced. Nordic track does not sell just the touchpads. Check ebay for your console it would be the cheapest. there should be a part number on the console in the inside or on the back of the plastic. Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.
