I use a brand new microfiber cloth. Mist the cloth with a spray bottle a few times with clean water. And brush the screen lightly with only the microfiber by folding the cloth into a square. If the stain is persistent try a LCD screen cleaning product

I have a LG 42LB5D 42" 1080 LCD television that

hi, usually you can correct this issue with only a few system checks, dark streaks can be caused by damaged pixels on the screen, in which case you need to replace the TV.
  • Inspect where the dark streaks are on the television. If the streaks occur at the same place on the top and bottom of the screen, they are due to the formatting of a movie or television show you are watching. This is normal. Also, if the streaks appear on the left and right of the screen, they are due to the show being filmed in full-screen instead of wide-screen. This also is normal.

  • Change the input setting so you are viewing the contents of a different device. If the dark streaks are gone, you know they are due to the device connected to it. However, if the dark streaks remains no matter what input the TV is connected to, the problem lies with the television.

  • Inspect the cable connection. Oftentimes when connecting a computer to an LCD TV, you can have strange dark streaks across the screen. Use a DVI-to-HDMI cable connection when plugging in your computer, then press the "Menu" button on your TV remote, select "Picture" and chose "Square Pixel." See whether the image adjusts and the dark streak goes away.
  • Contact the manufacturer of your LCD television if the dark streak remains. This streak can be caused by a defect in the television; if the TV is still under warranty, you can have it replaced.

Black streak thru my screen. what can i do

Plug an external monitor into the VGA-output port.
If the black-streak shows up on the external monitor, it's your computer, and maybe the video-adapter, that is the problem.
If there's no black-streak, then it's your LCD-screen that is damaged.
It will cost about $200 for a replacement screen, and about $60 for an hour of a technician's time to open-up your laptop, remove the old screen, install the new screen, close-up your laptop, and to test it.

Or, if your computer is still under warranty, it may be possible to get the repair ($260) done via the warranty.

Hi, I have a Sony Grand Wega LCD Projection TV that has a blotted gray streak across the front of the screen. I only use a damp cloth to clean the window and that doesn't seem to help. It really shows up on light pictures and is unnoticed when the picture is a little darker. What can I do to fix this problem???

    Streaking inside of screen

Philips screens tend to be very tough to remove as if you are not careful on removal of the screen frame bolts then the whole screen will come falling off.
