You can combine two channels into one, but you can't combine four channels into one. The best you can do is bridge it down to two channels.

Make sure your sub is wired in bridged mode also and not to an ohm load that is too small for your amp to take. Such as a 1 ohm load or a .5 ohm load. A great way to figure this out is to go to Crutchfield and find their section on subwoofer wiring diagrams. Another good source is www.the12volt.com which also will show you all options. you must be presenting a 4 ohm load from your sub to the amp because it's smallest impedence is 2 ohm stable. Then you bridge at the amp which is 2 ohms to each channel you are trying to bridge.

SOURCE: Alpine mrp-350 amp

1) If you bridge on a non bridged amp your sound will be horrible as they sine waves comming out of the two teminals will be different... I suggest removing the bridge. 2) The gain knob is to adjust when the amp will reach its max volume with respect to the sterio;s volume. 3) the LP filter is a Low Pass filter and its purpose is to eliminate the higher frequencies that do not sound all the well when played over subwoofers.

I need to know what the wattage the alpine mrv-f407 puts out when its bridged or only running 2 channels?

RMS Continuous Power (at 12.0V)
Per channel into 4 ohms...............40W, 0.08% THD
Per channel into 2 ohms ..............50W, 0.3% THD
Bridged into 4 ohms.....................100W, 0.3% THD

RMS Continuous Power (at 14.4V)
Per channel into 4 ohms...............60W, 0.08% THD
Per channel into 2 ohms...............80W, 0.3% THD
Bridged into 4 ohms.....................160W, 0.3% THD

I have 4/3/2 ch. alpine f-240 amp- i want to hook up four 6x8 3-way and one 12''sub. the amp has bass EQ on ch. 3. how would i hook it up and get the most power. can i put the 4 6x8 bridged all together...

run two 6x8s on each of the front channels of the amp. then depending on the sub you can bridge it on the rear channels.only if its a single four ohm. if its a dual 2 ohm sub run each coil on each channel. 1 coil-1channel. the other coil-the other channel. amp should run fine may run a little hot since it will be doing all it can do at a safe ohm load. just make sure it is mounted in a well vented area. should be safe.

Alpine sub woofer

your speakers are hooked up wrong. hook both positives together and both negatives together and bridge it to the amp. if it is one channel hook it up as one together. if it is 2 channel hook positive to one side and negative to the other side.

Installing two amps

No, thats what you don't what to do. Even if you have 2 matching amps you don't do that. Every amp puts out different, and for 2 subs, you want to play at the the same time. If your only running 2 10's, I personal would just run the alpine (it's a mono amp made especially for subs) thats plenty for what you have. make sure you bridge them to get the full response. And your other amp i would use for your highs or mids, but run it @ stereo , which is 300 w @ 4 ohms. (Note: 600w @ 2ohms would be bridged and would play in Mono)

Building Competition stereo's is a big hobby of mine.

Want to bridge my alpine 3555 amp to run my sub.

I'm assuming this atleast a 2 channel amplifier all you need to do is hook the negative side of the speaker wire coming from the sub to the negative channel one. and the positive to another positive on channel 2. Should indicate on your amplifier channel one and two. most amps provide a diagram right on the amplifier over top of the speaker inputs. let me know if this helps.

Bridging to 12 inch kicker competition subs to my 1000 watt alpine 4 channel amp

I'm a bit confused. For Alpine amps, the "M" prefix is for monoblock (aka single channel) amps and the "F" prefix is for multichannel amps. The only M550 I find is an MRD-M550, which is a monoblock, not a 4 channel like you say.
Unfortunately, I can't give you accurate help until we know weather it's truly 1 channel or 4 channel. Then I'll be glad to help!
