How to install windows 7 from pen drive

Its very difficult to install windows 7 if you are not having a DVD drive, Especially when you are planning to upgrade your windows xp system you would like to see how vista looks. So you need to install it and see. Requirements: USB pen drive 4GB or more
Windows 7 DVD
Step 1: Download HP USB storage format tool from here and install on your computer.
Step 2: Once you finish installation, double click on HP USB storage format tool and format your pen drive in NTFS
For this, select NTFS from File system option and Check quick format option and click on start.

While doing the format the data stored on your Pendrive will be lost. You keep a back if needed. Press YES on the warning message

Once the format finished you will get a message with the details and Click
on OK

Now insert Windows 7 DVD in to DVD Drive and go to command prompt.
For that go to start -> RUN and type CMD and press enter or OK

You will see the command prompt with black back ground
Now you need to change the directory to your DVD drive where you put the windows vista DVD.
For that type G: and press enter (here I am using G because in my system DVD drive letter is G. So you need to check your DVD drive letter and type accordingly)
So the directory will change to G:>
Now type cd boot and press enter
Now the interface will be like G:boot>
Then type bootsect.exe /nt60 h: (where h is the drive letter of your pen drive)
Now you will get a successful message like below

Now you can close the command prompt and copy all the contents from the windows 7 DVD to the pen drive

It will start copying now

Once it’s finished, you need to restart your pc and access the bios of your system and make first boot device as USB pen drive.
That’s it, now you can see installation starts from the USB pen drive.

How to restore XP windows on Acer C100 laptop

Insert the System restore disk in the CD drive and boot the computer it should boot from the CD and give you the option to restore teh system. Another option is to press the F10 or F12 key repeatedly after pressing the power button and if the system restore utility is stored on a hard drive it will boot from that partition.

We have a Leapster 2 which the screen no longer registers when touched by the pen. Can this be fixed or replaced? i bought it only 2 months ago hope you can help Emma

I posted a solution to this problem a couple months ago. We have the Cars edition of the Leapster2. I'm guessing it was the same problem that we were having. When the pen touched the screen there was no response and the unit had barely been used. Try this!! I found it on www.ehow.com.

Callibration
  • If you touch your stylus pen to the screen of your Leapster2 and it does not respond, your unit needs to be calibrated. To do this, make sure no game cartridge is in the unit. Turn the unit on while you are holding down the "Hint" or "?" button. Keep holding the button down until the Leapster2 menu appears. You will need to turn off the unit and repeat these steps if you do not see the menu. When the menu comes onto the screen, press the "A" button and use the stylus pen to touch each of the crosshairs as they appear. When you are done, your unit should be properly calibrated.

The stylus pen does not work

You can try calibrating the stylus pen. Hope this works :) Here are step by step instructions straight from the Leapster2 website:

If your Leapster2 does not respond to the stylus pen, it needs to be calibrated. Calibrating the Leapster2 is easy:

    1) Ensure that a game cartridge is not inserted in the Leapster2

    2) Hold down the Hint (?) button while turning the unit on. Continue to hold the Hint button down until the LEAPSTER2 menu appears. Remember that you need to hold the "Hint" button down the whole time while you are pressing the power button, and releasing it.

    3) The LEAPSTER2 menu will show the options Base Info, Cart1 Info, Cart2 Info, Cart3 Info, and Touch Calib. If you do not see this menu after powering on the Leapster2, turn the Leapster2 off and repeat steps 1 & 2 until you see the menu.

    4) When the LEAPSTER2 menu screen appears, press the A button on your handheld.

    5) Using the stylus pen, touch each of the crosshairs that appear

    6) Restart unit

When my daughter touches any object with the pen nothing happens. It will keep telling you to touch a picture on the screen with your pen.

You need to recalibrate. Try pushing B, A, Hint, and Home when you turn it on. Do not have a cartridge in the player or it will think it is a regular Leapster. Once it says calibrate screen it will say to press A, then wait until a target appears in the upper left hand corner, touch it and you should hear a sound, then a new target appears in the lower left hand, repeat actions, then lower right hand screen, and finally the upper right hand screen. If it stops at any time and doesn't get more arrows, try it again or turn it off and see if the pen works. It may take a few tries to get it to recalibrate correctly.

Canot open or format my pendrive...................

    Hi,
The problem is small but annoying i can understand. However, the problem is that the pen drive has either gone infected with virus or it has gone bad. To check if it has not gone bad please restart your system and make sure that the anti-virus protection is on, the pen drive should come up if it is working fine. If it doesn't try changing the usb ports, or try the same in another system. If it doesn't work that most probably it has gone bad. please check for the warranty on the pen-drive to get it replaced through vendor.

    Hopefully it works
    Thanks and Regards
