Hi Shaniqua, thank you for your question! Let's try
resetting the appliance by either unplugging it or flipping the household
circuit breaker off. It is important to wait approximately ten minutes and then
turn the microwave on. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, then once the tech has ruled out a number of possibilities
such as a faulty door switch, a potential wiring failure or a communication error
with the control board, then he or she can pinpoint the exact problem and the
necessary part to fix the issue to determine the root cause to reduce the risk
of unnecessary parts.
The cause of the TE error for us was grease/gunk on some exposed pins and
flex connectors (communication bus between controller and keypad) that was
interfering with communication with the keypad. Resolution to TE error: Remove
the keypad / control board from the microwave. There are three screws on the
bottom at the front to remove. Once those are removed, the keypad is held on by
clips. Slide the entire keypad to the left and it will come loose. After it is
loose, carefully remove all the wired connectors to the microwave. Lay the
keypad face down on the counter and look at the control board. The control board
is actually seperate from the keypad and connected via two thin flex strips with
many small contacts (like a nintendo game connector) . Our flex strips were
covered in grease from the hood fan operation. Carefully clean the strip and the
connector (with a felt pen if you have one) and resassemble. This resolved the
issue for us.
Hi. this code represents a key pad or control board malfunction. you will have to make sure the key pad or control panel connectors are connected tightly and securely. If the wires and connectors are secure, the actual control board may be faulty and you will need to replace it at this point.
