Skywave250 no ignition spark problems

If you're experiencing ignition spark problems with your Skywave 250, there could be several potential causes. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can take:
  1. Check the spark plug: Remove the spark plug and inspect it for signs of damage, such as fouling or worn electrodes. Clean or replace the spark plug if necessary.
  2. Check the ignition coil: Test the ignition coil for proper functioning. Use a multimeter to measure the resistance between the spark plug wire and the coil's primary and secondary terminals. Compare the readings to the specifications provided in the motorcycle's service manual. If the readings are outside the recommended range, the ignition coil may need to be replaced.
  3. Inspect the ignition wiring: Ensure that all ignition wiring connections are secure and free from corrosion or damage. Check for loose connections, frayed wires, or damaged insulation. Repair or replace any faulty wiring as needed.
  4. Test the CDI unit: The CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) unit controls the ignition spark. Consult the motorcycle's service manual for instructions on how to test the CDI unit using a multimeter or specialized testing equipment. If the CDI unit is found to be defective, it will need to be replaced.
  5. Check the ignition switch and related components: Ensure that the ignition switch is functioning properly and providing power to the ignition system. Inspect other components such as the ignition control module or pickup coil for any issues.
  6. Seek professional assistance: If you have followed the above steps and are still unable to diagnose or resolve the ignition spark problem, it is recommended to consult a qualified motorcycle mechanic or a dealership with expertise in your specific motorcycle model. They will have the necessary tools and knowledge to accurately diagnose and fix the issue.
Remember to prioritize safety during the troubleshooting process, and if you're unsure or uncomfortable with any electrical work, it's always best to seek professional assistance.

Clearance for stihl ms 250 ignition coil

Rotate the flywheel until the magnets are under the module, insert a thin business card into the pole gaps, loosen the module screws and allow the module to contact the magnets. Tighten the screws and rotate the flywheel somewhat to release the card. Turn the flywheel one full turn to make sure the pole gaps don't close further. Hope this helps!

1983 Ford F 250 with no spark at this point. Was running; came home and there was oil coming out of the coil. Could the module have gone bad and caused this? For awhile after the oil coming out of coil...

If the coil is bleeding oil out of it,replace it and see what happens,it needs to be replaced anyhow,if this does not help, replace the ignition module. It most likely has a tfi module on the side of the distributor, and it takes a 5.5mm socket to remove,if it is an earlier ignition style, the ignition module will be on drivers side fender well.

Removing flywheel and clutch assembly ms 250 stihl

You need a piston stop, watch part of this to explain use:

Make one with starter cord or rope:
I suggest a length of starter cord or nylon rope be used instead of the piston stop (retain 6" ± so you can remove it). Make sure the piston is near the top of the cylinder before feeding the cord or it can fall through the exhaust port and damage the piston as it rises. HTH
