Vegetables in crisper are frozen, as well as liquids in bottom 1/2 of fridge door. The fridge & freezer temp controls won't adjust to our settings. Also, we're getting ice, but no water will dispense.

The freezer cools the refrigerator, so you actually get very cold air passing from the freezer to the refrig. The air from the freezer enters the refrig on the top and falls to the bottom where it is drawn back into the freezer. The temperature of the refrig is regulated by a thermostat and a fan that runs when the thermostat calls for cooling. If the refrig thermostat is faulty and causes the fan to run more than it should, there will be a freezing problem in the refrig at the bottom because cold air falls and warm air rises. If the refrig is thermostat is calling for cooling constantly, this will take more cold air from the freezer than is normal. Your freezer temp might be higher than normal and the refrig will be colder then desired. If the fan from the freezer is running constantly I would suspect a bad refrig thermostat.

GE Profile CF24W-PL

Its simple really,, Your refrigator needs re gassing,, call a professional and he will regas it.

When the gas is running low the fridge cools less and less and eventually will not cool at all when the gas is depleated. Its a natural process and any aircondition or refrigation professional should be able to come to your house and gas up the refrigator , a process that takes a few minutes.. I dont recommend you attempt to do it your self, as it will not take a whole can of gas and if by chance you use the wrong type you will spiol the compressor

Have side by side ge, not cooling correctly, only indication i got was things freezing in fridge a couple of days ago, now not cool enough

Hello

Have a look under and behind the refrig, see if there is dust and dirt on the condensor and condensor fan.

If so, lightly take a vacum and sweep it off. Also claen any dust off the front grill located at the bottom.

If this doesnt help you may have a bad defrost timer or your low on freon, which would require a service call.
Thanks

My ge refrig is 30 yrs old...operating normal until yesterday. It constantly runs. the freezerer does not freeze, the circulation fan is not running in the freezer and the lower is cool but not cold.

Good day,
The freezer fan motor going bad, would cause all the symtoms you described. Remove it, take it to an appliance parts house, where they will be glad to test it. If bad, replace.
P.S. Always replace the blade as well when replacing a GE motor.

GE refrig Model # GSS25WGMD WW freezer is cool, compressor is running, but food is thawing out, ice has melted...not sure if I left door open ovenight, should I call repair..show long does it take to...

I pulled the refrig out from the wall, turned it off, took off the back panel (that covers the compressor fan and motor) and used the attachment on my vacuum to remove the dust from the area. Then I closed the flapper that allows the ice to release from the ice maker compartment to the dispenser, so no warm air would get into the freezer area. I plugged the refrigerator back in and within an hour it was freezing again! So far this week, I have had to repair the garbage disposal and the refrigerator.....I saved some nice $$$ by figuring this out by myself!
