My cooktop stopped working in the middle of making breakfast. We switched the breaker back on and the error code said E5. What does this mean?

SOURCE: Kenmore Elite Induction Cooktop Error Code 41

I realize this is over a year old. I have the same unit with the same error code. Last night, mine made a popping noise followed by smoke and then displayed the 41 and all E's. I pulled the breaker immediately. I'm sure that at least one controller board is toast.
I called Sears and it is under warranty but for parts only, so I guess I will give them a call and schedule the repairman. This should be fun.

Anyone else experienced this failure??

I have a Bosch 30" induction cooktop that has stopped working with no error codes.

Dear Ed,
Sounds like you have a short, perhaps in the cooktop control panel. Please do not even try to get it to work again until it is checked by an electrician, so you do not find your self fighting a fire somewhere between the circuit breaker box and the cooktop.
God bless your efforts.

Power went out. reset circuit breaker and all the lights keep flashing 8.8 and won't stop

Hello Heidi, thank you for your post!
From my understanding your Electrolux cooktop is displaying an error code of 8.8. The error code of 8.8 means there is a shift register issue on the middle touch board. This could a possible issue with the control board or the middle touch board. You may need to have a professional technician out to your home for proper diagnosis. We hope this information is helpful to your repair. -Matt

I have a glass cooktop Electrolux which is only 2 years. stopped functioning with a E-11 error code and cannot ulock. what can Ido?

Hello Gloria Padilla, thank you for your post!
I understand that your Electrolux cooktop is displaying an error code "E-11" and will not allow you to operate. The "E-11" error code stands for key sensor in cook place four. This could mean a possible issue with your flex cable, right board, or left board. I see you have completed a reset on your cooktop, at this point I would recommend having a professional technician for a proper diagnosis to be completed. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

Prestige induction cooktop showing error E4

Good Afternoon friend, I appreciate your inquiry!

Typically on an Electrolux induction cooktop the "E4" error code stands for key sensor for timer. Which means you could be experiencing an issue with the right board, center board, or left board. I would perform a reset on your cooktop and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker off for ten minutes.

If that does not assist with clearing any false error codes or the error "E4" continues to display I would suggest seeking assistance from a professional for proper diagnosis and repair. Hopefully this helps. -Matt

Electrolux Induction Cooktop E36IC75FSS Error Code 41

Hi Sue -- when you switched the breaker, how long did you leave it off before switching it back on? Generally, it's a good idea to leave the breaker off (or unplug the unit) for a full 30 seconds before switching the unit back on. If you did have it off for 30 seconds and the error code came on after that point, then it may possibly be a relay isse. That will more than likely require a visit from an authorized servicer to properly diagnose the cooktop. Hopefully the 30-second test prevails and the issue is resolved. Best of luck!

I Bought Prestige induction stove I am getting E5 error can any body help what it means

E5 or E0 means that the stove is getting overheated. You have to reduce the temperature for it to stop. It goes on with few beeps and then stops.

Whirlpool Cooktop will not reset

Well the solution was to unplug the 220Volt connection for one minute--plug it back in--reset the clock, hit start and bingo it worked. I found on the back of the stove the technicians schematic, and error codes in a plastic envelope that described the procedure for finding--isolating--and solving the issue by the use of the error codes, which were not avaialable online anywhere but in the diagram and description for a technician's use.
I saved myself $109 dollars by avoiding the call out, but still my breakfast was four hours late!
