Download the latest Proliant Support Pack from HP's web site. This will update the drivers for everything on the server at once.

Just go to hp.com and click the link for "Support & Drivers" at the top, then click the radio button to download drivers and enter ML350 into the text box. Select the G5 from the list and then select your OS. The PSP will be near the bottom of the page. The display driver will be close to the top if you just want to update it.

SOURCE: hp ml350 g3 how can i install window xp on it and

The problem you will have is with the RAID drivers as HP does not support running XP on this box. You can try to load these using the F6 option during the XP installation but no promises that it will work. Try using a Server 2000 or 2003 driver.

You may get lucky and be able to find an XP driver for the specific SCSI chip set used on your controller. If so, then you should have no problems.

Check if the processor fan is running properly. Also check the RAM modules, as these could sometime cause the machine to hang.

SOURCE: I want to install windows

1. turn the server on, when you see the smart array controller posting
hit f8 to enter the controller settings, here create the array (1, 5,0)
2. insert the windows cd and follow the normal installation procedure
or download the smart start cd from here for a guided installation
with SSCD just insert the cd and follow the directions

Windows Server 2008 Network Driver for Proliant ML350 G3

Anyone who has tried loading Windows Server 2008 on their Proliant ML350 G3 has found that HP does not offer the network driver for this system.

BUT, the Windows Server 2003 driver for the NC series Broadcom 1gb will work! Rather than choosing the 'install' option, choose to 'extract' it, then via the device manager, manually install the driver from that location.

Happy Computing!

Proliant does not boot from raid controller if external SCSI drive is powered on.

Try to disable boot to other device on your bios setting.

Make sure that your Smart Raid is set on the first boot device.

Problem with harddrive

It could be because the disk is not a part of any array. Log into the server and go to the array controller utility from HP and check for any unassigned disks. It will be displayed there rather than the diskmanagement window.

ITS NOT LOADING WINDOWS

If it is not booting at all then the disks will not be configured. Better boot the server using the HP utility CD and install the OS after creating the right array and partitions.

I can´t use a serial ata disk in a proliant 350

I know ATA disks are cheaper , but they don't last as long or are less reliable.

I do not recommend mixing SCSI and ATA .

Use one or the other , not both.

Do not try , unless your server is non critical.
If it is non critical , why bother with server , a PC will do as well.

Thanks
David
