I have a foxstat -HDR humax box and I am getting no or bad signal on the TV downstairs. I can get some channels but not all.

I have had some trouble for some weeks but the last couple of weeks the signal seems worse. I have a freeview box upstairs and that started playing up and that is connected to the same dish. It started to lose channels and now I cannot get a picture at all on the TV upstairs. It did strangely come on the other night and I watched a film and then I turned the TV off and back on again and no TV again. I have checked the cables and they seem fine. The dish is on a pole with a dish for satellite internet and that seems fine which indicates to me that it isn't anything to do with the pole moving. So, I am of the opinion, not that I know anything about these sort of things that it could be the LNB. It is a quad LNB. Two connections to the Humax and one to the freeview box. I suppose I need to check whether the dish has moved, but if it isn't the dish could it be the LNB? When I do a diagnostic on the TV downstairs the signal strength and quality is very poor on tuner 1 10/50% but great on tuner 2. Any help would be appreciated.

I suspect that the box upstairs is a Freesat box; a Freeview box requires a feed from an aerial, not a dish.

The problem you are seeing may be caused by water in the cables, if they are not sealed at the LNB. The LNB may be failing, but dish misalignment is more likely.

As there is an unused output on the LNB, try swapping one of the feeds with a poor signal to it.

Testimonial: "Thanks for your feedback. The freeview box is connected to the dish because I am in France and it is the only way to receive TV. I thought it might be the LNB and I have tried swapping the feeds and nothing works. I am of the opinion that it could be the freeview box that has given up the ghost. The humax box is working and the dish alignment is spot on so I think it is a new freeview box!"

SOURCE: Changed from single to twin LNB, no signal

HELLO

Here is a suggestion! Try SKEWING the LNB around a few degrees. Looking at the front of the dish, turn your LNB to the LEFT slightly (that is anti-clockwise).

Sometimes it's the little things that matter most where installation is concerned. It is also possible that due to the weight of the new LNB, the alignment may be out.

For got password on my humax-hdr

Hello
The default password for this device is [ 0000 ]. Just enter this when it asks for password. Sometimes, it won't accept this at first time to cheat you. Just enter this once again. The set passoword will be cleared, and you have the chance to set an other password, and have to. OK.

Can't seem to get broadcat information - when

I beleive that this problem was thrown up after Humax's last update. I have had the same problem, you press that programme you want and then it tells you to wait for broadcast information.
Lovely, then you have to wait about 30 seconds until it appears, talk about a backward step.
I have e-mailed Humax with the problem, if enough people do the same, we may get an update that will solve it.

Can I attach a Wi-Fi router to the back of my Humax Fox HDR T2 to recieve TV from my router on my main computer

No, it's the other way round.

"Plugged into a router or a wireless bridge, the box's network setup is fast and easy. For now it's just used for streaming content from your network to your telly, but there's a button on the remote marked TV Portal which hints at things to come - this box will be able to deliver on-demand and catch-up content, including Sky's online service." - quoted from the link below

Hi, I have a digital tv plugged into an extension cable in an upstairs (Toshiba) bedroom; it works perfectly - receiving all channels. I have a digital tv downstairs (Samsung) where it seems the wall...

Hi Fiona
Somewhere along the line from the aerial there must be a signal splitter that feeds the upstair and downstair terminals.
Try to find that splitter and switch the output to see if the problem goes from up to downstair.
If it does switch then you know the problem is with the splitter block, and if it stays the same then the problem is with the cable and/or the connectors that run downstairs.
Also the reason you get a pixellated(snowy) picture is because of signal loss during the length of the cable you ran downstair.
If running a cable downstair becomes the best option to fix your problem , then you could buy a cheap 10db signal booster/r.f amplifier to correct the signal loss and a cable splitter to feed both tv`s
That booster would be installed upstair in your case(near the source of the signal to be amplified).
I could send you a small diagram if need be. Hope this will help and Merry Chrismas
