What is the best way to connect an external ringer to a Toshiba phone? If I remember correctly, you can get an analog speaker and tie in to the speaker wires in the phone, but is there a better way?

Get an electronic buzzer, and install it on an analog port. Set that port to internal twin with the phones you want to ring, or put it in a hunt group.
Most external loud ringers are analog and your phone is digital. You would also need a digital to analog converter and use an additional digital extension to make it work.
you probably have an external speaker on the phone separate from the earpiece you will probably need to have the external speaker replaced on the phone...the speaker is usually in the back piece of the phone... hope this helps

You will need to buy a digital coax to an RCA or analog Headphone cable. You will plug the digital coax end of the plug into your "coax out" connection on the back of the project.
The other end will depend on your speakers. If your speakers take an RCA connection (white and yellow cables) then you will buy a Digital Coax to RCA cable. If they take a regular headphone jack then you will need a Digital Coax to 3.5mm headphone jack converter, and plug the headphone jack into your speakers.
Then it means the speaker and earpiece of the phone is bad, this is mostly caused by water damage or the phone hitting a hard object. You need to replace the earpiece of the phone to be able to use it effectively, but before you do that, you can use an external earpiece that you will connect to the earpiece connection port on the phone to receive calls and make calls before you replace the speaker of the phone.

Hi, what causes the phone not to be able to ring out is due to the ringer inside the phone that allows you to hear a ringing tone and can be used as external speaker too.it's bad.
You will need to replace the ringer inside the phone. When replaced phone will start ringing out and you can hear when it rings out.
There is a possibility of a defective integrated circuit on the SRS/WOW board. But as a work around you can connect the set to an external amplifier. You are correct in that there is not a place to directly connect the speakers, but there are line level audio output jacks on the back of the set which can be fed to an amp. The problem may still be present; I honestly don't remember if the external audio is before or after the SRS board. Good luck.
