Flooded floor Unit about a year old, never leaked. Flooded floor while I was away 10 days. Water coming from bottom of unit. I use the bottom left pump drain. Unscrewed the back panel; hose connections look good. 1 can I test it w back panel off? 2 I placed unit on its belly when taking panel off, which I shouldn't have done. 3 Where should I look for clogs? Thanks....

Yes I agree that you should not have layed it down , please wait for 48 hrs now to run it again with unit in upright position

next id go over unit and look all all hose's seems a bit of mold builds up inside of these very often , Wight id always say to give it a little spritz of bleach water every 30-60 days or so to clean it out and keep your pipes flowing freely
one of those little bottles of compressed air for computer cleaning goes 4 miles to cleaning out little holes and such on these things

SOURCE: leaking water

It sounds as though the collection pail is not installed correctly, or the hose fitting cap is loose. Make sure that the pail is seated correctly & the cap is tight. Inspect the bottom for rust perforation, too, although this is a long shot. If this fails, then the cold coil may have broken away from it's mount, & is dripping in the wrong place. Inspection with the cover off will reveal any misalignment or broken components. Repair as required.

SOURCE: delonghi de400p

same thing happend to me. I wasnt sure if it was the settings or me. I unplugged it for awhile, read thru the instructions turned it back on setting it according to the instructions and it began to work again. Not sure if it had to do with the unit being off for awhile or I entered the correct settings. Im just happy it began to run again

Unit is not collecting water and carpet is wet

Unplug it and let it dry out. Place it on old newspaper and start. Check the paper and look for the wet spot. That will let you know where the water is coming out of the unit. Check that area, it is probably a bad seal on the drain or a crack in the water container.

Water is leaking out of the bottom

I get this complaint once in a while , most times it boils down to a unit that's being used on a Non level surface , most units are designed to gravity drain , if its not level , then Gravity is pulling wrong direction on unit so it drips on floor ;not in bucket

drips also can come from a frozen evap coil , this is a sure sign of blocked air flow and possible gas charge over heat (leak) unplug unit for 48 hrs to see if water continues to drain out , if so yep it's iced up

I have a De Longhi 8C70 Dehunidifyer. It is approximately seven years old. The pump is broken, when I flip the pump switch to the on position, the water no longer goes through the tube but drips into the...

Think the problem is with a clogged tube running to the drain, rather than a faulty pump.

To test this theory, first turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Using an 18" long, appropriately sized, plastic Zip Tie. Carefully insert it into the drain hole tubing and continue to push it in unitil you reach a bend in the tubing. Gingerly work it past this bend until the Zip Tie bottoms out or your run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull it back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will help break up any clogs. As you reach the tip of the Zip Tie, be prepared as some water may follow. Plug the unit back in and turn the unit ON. Set the control to Pump Mode and monitor the drain for water flow.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Hello, We have/had a seven-year old unit which was working fine till a few days ago. First, I noticed a pillow-size pool on our basement floor two consecutive days. I moved round the unit since we thought...

It's 7 years old and has severed you well. Repairs on a unit that old, cold cost as much as a new unit. That's, if the parts are still available for a 7 year old dehumidifier.

As far as advice is concerned ... I agree with you. Since you're using it primarily in a basement. Shop for a low temperature unit. That's one that will function well, between 40 & 60 degrees F. I say this, because the ambient air temperature at floor level in a basement, can be 5 to 8 degrees cooler than the air temperature at chest level. Regular dehumidifiers don't function well at the temperatures I referenced above.

The other features you want to look at is energy efficiency and the square footage or cubic footage it's rated to handle. I would suggest, no matter what you buy, if an extended warranty is available ...buy it. It could be money well spent. Then, only the Routine Maintenance is up to you. Which means, don't misplace your owner's Manual.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know.

Leak

Mine did this last year. I took the housing off of the left side and found a clear plastic tube had popped off the fitting, I put it back on and it worked fine. The tube was toward the lower front of the unit.
