we do no not know what PC you have at all make and model.
but a Desktop most times 99% came with no wifi? (real disktops not AIO, are a different beast) AIO = all in one .
so what is connected?, wifi or Ethernet, are you at home or at STARBUCKS? (or the like)

and are wifi are you near your wifi router or modem.

2: the decktop wifi added after new PC is dead. on wifi
3: the cell phone is dead on wifi but 3G works.
so you router needs to be reset or you forgot your credentials to it.
go to internet connect in preferences, make sure airport is in range of wifi, check to see if other devices are able to connect to your wifi, check settings for your wifi.
you need to understand two things.
Wifi is a service which requires an access point i.e. a Access point hardware, also known as Wifi Router and A wifi enabled phone.
As you hve mentioned that you have corby- pro, it does have a wifi chip to access the wifi signal.
Now you must get a wifi access point, i.e. a Wifi router, d link has veriety of routers, Now connect the router with broadband internet line and enable it. Configure the router through your desktop.
Now switch on the wifi on the corby pro and establish connection between the wifi router and corby .
Then only you will be able to connect with internet..
first you have to make sure if what connection you want to use, if its wifi or a network cable, and make sure you properly set up your connections, on your control panel you can choose my network place or a wireless connection wizard. If your are using its wifi make sure to click the button that activate the its wifi.
Try to use your laptop in the other wifi connection if it's work the problem is your router wifi configuration. But if cannot work try to check in device manager if your wifi device is working properly. in the RUN type DEVMGMT.MSC and look for your wifi device there if there is a ? mark it's mean that there is a complex configuration in the wifi. remove the wifi device in restart your computer the windows automatic detect the device in install it. try to connect if it is work but if still not work check for the ip and gateway configuration in the wifi setup.
